Jaipur’s best hotels include former royal residences, eco-conscious retreats and stylish boutique properties. Many are destinations in themselves, with bespoke experiences ranging from indulgent treatments in élite spas to adventurous safaris in tiger sanctuaries. A group of Fora travel advisors visited Jaipur on a 2025 trip to familiarize themselves with the city and its accommodations. Below, we incorporate their insights and recommendations to break down the most luxurious hotels in Jaipur.

The best hotels in Jaipur

Our first set of recommendations are all in or just outside of Jaipur.

Rambagh Palace, Jaipur (Central Park)

Elegant and grandiose hotel room with Persian rugs, vintage furniture, opulent bedding and drapery

Rambagh Palace was built in 1835 for the wet nurse of Prince Ram Singh II before it was turned into a royal hunting lodge. Almost 100 years later, it underwent extensive renovations to become the principal residence of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II, when it adopted the regal, stately atmosphere it still has today. Two decades later, Rambagh Palace transformed for a final time into one of the most luxurious hotels in Jaipur, if not all of Northern India.

“Rambagh Palace is a must for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in history,” Fora Advisor Judy Tudor, of TudorTravels, said. “The palace's opulent rooms, rich with heritage, and the elegant courtyards transport you to another era.”

The hotel is in Jaipur’s Central Park, a massive greenspace near the middle of the city. It’s set on a private 47 acres within the park, and boasts meticulously landscaped gardens, ornate jaali (traditional Indian stone carvings and lattice work), carved marble and majestic fountains. The word “palace” is apt here.

“We loved the peacefulness of the gardens and the chance to dine at the beautiful Suvarna Mahal,” Judy said. “Make sure to enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride around the palace grounds for a touch of romance and history.”

Inside, every room and suite is styled with luxe furnishings, antique Indian décor and a seamless integration of modern amenities (back-lit makeup mirrors, Italian fine linens, a bath menu, flat-screens). Mumbai-based Fora X Advisor Gunjan Sharma called Rambagh Palace a bucket-list destination and the “grand dame of Indian palaces.”

Dining alone makes Rambagh Palace one of the best hotels in Jaipur — Suvarna Mahal serves authentic Northern Indian cuisine in a grandiose space — but there’s also a world-class spa, fitness center, guided meditation and yoga sessions, cooking classes and various spaces for sports, like tennis courts and croquet fields.

Raffles Jaipur (Kukas)

Raffles Jaipur is in the Kukas area of greater Jaipur, but it’s only a short drive from the latter’s center. It’s a relatively quiet area with greenspaces, a more rural vibe and high-end hotels.

“For a luxury resort stay that offers a peaceful retreat with plenty of experiences to enjoy on-property — while still being close enough to the heart of Jaipur — I recommend the Raffles Jaipur,” Fora X Advisor Kay Hart said.

The hotel only opened in summer 2024, and embodies Indian grandeur with a design inspired by the city’s rich history. Its carved white-marble-façade was brought to life by master Rajasthani artisans, along with intricate latticework, scalloped archways and hand‑painted murals.

Each of the hotel’s 50 rooms includes a private balcony complete with an outdoor soaking tub or plunge pool. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the Aravalli Hills and the hotel’s manicured courtyards. You can also unwind in the rooftop infinity pool or Sehara bar, indulge in holistic therapies — including hot and cold mineral pools — at the massive Raffles Spa or savor elevated Northern Indian fare at Arkaa. The hotel also has an afternoon tea service at Safir Tea & Champagne Lounge. In the evening, sip cocktails in the library‑style Writers Bar.

The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur (Prem Nagar)

Rajasthani architecture: two prominent statues guard either side of a grand, castle-like entrance

The Oberoi Group operates many of the best hotels in India (plus one of the best hotels in Marrakech, Morocco). Its signature five-star hotel in Jaipur — Travel + Leisure dubbed it the best hotel in the world in 2024 — lives up to the brand’s pedigree. The hotel is in Prem Nagar, a suburb of Jaipur. Grand castle-like walls and dense trees conceal The Oberoi Rajvillas’ 32 acres of Maharaja palace-inspired grounds and gardens from busy urban streets. It feels secluded, but the rest of Jaipur is just outside the walls. Kay described The Oberoi as a “lush, peacock-filled oasis.”

Fora Advisor Stephanie Bloom liked the hotel’s setting away from the hustle and bustle of Jaipur, and appreciated that it’s still near major attractions. The Amber Palace, one of Jaipur’s most famous landmarks, is less than 30 minutes away by car (visiting is one of the top things to do in Jaipur).

“The Oberoi Rajvilas is the perfect escape for anyone who wants a mix of Rajasthan’s grandeur and modern luxury,” Fora Advisor Glenn Tudor, also of TudorTravels, said. “The service is impeccable, making you feel like royalty.”

Each of the hotel's 70 rooms includes 24-hour butler service. Accommodations range from massive entry-tier rooms to larger villas and luxury tents complete with heated pools within private courtyards. (Judy and Glenn recommended booking the latter, which blends a traditional Rajasthani aesthetic with all the modern comforts of a luxury hotel in Jaipur.) Regardless of your room choice, expect elegant Rahasthani décor, premium linens and comforts (air conditioning, even in the tents, deep-soaking tubs, al fresco garden decks, et. al.).

Dining includes an elevated Northern Indian restaurant and Surya Mahal, a.k.a. the Sun Palace, which serves a fine European menu. Private dining and afternoon tea service are also available. Wellness offerings include a high-end spa featuring traditional Indian treatments as well as guided yoga on demand.

  • Fora Perks include a complimentary lunch or dinner, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Rajmahal Palace RAAS Jaipur (Shivaji Nagar)

18th-century Rajmahal Palace is another royal-residence-turned-luxury-hotel, but with a different vibe than Rambagh Palace. Outside, there are nearly 20 acres of stately hedges and gardens; on the inside, this hip boutique hotel fuses traditional Indian and 20th-century Art Deco styles. It embodies the ritz and glamour of the latter, but is still authentic to the former. (One fun detail: Native Indian flowers replace the generic floral prints normally seen in Art Deco fabrics and wallpaper.)

“Rajmahal Palace in Jaipur is a retro dream great for boutique hotel lovers,” Fora Advisor Alexandra Vigilante Chamberlin said.

History is built into the property. All 13 rooms are individually styled, with nods to famous guests like Princess Diana and Jackie Kennedy. Each room boasts a thoughtful mix of vintage pieces, contemporary furnishings and thematic art.

“Book a stay at the Rajmahal Palace and you will truly feel like you have stepped back in time in the most royal of ways,” Kay said.

Rajmahal Palace is in Jaipur’s historic core, just minutes from sites like Hawa Mahal castle and the Albert Hall Museum. The hotel will facilitate transfers from Jaipur International Airport, too. On-site amenities include a large outdoor pool, spa and gym. The hotel’s dining is another area where it excels.

“Rajmahal Palace is worth a visit for high tea or dinner, even if you aren't staying,” Fora X Advisor Wendy Wallace said.

51 Shades of Pink, a glamorous bar-slash-lounge, pays homage to Jaipur (a.k.a. the “Pink City”) with an elegant design and pink-only color palette. The Collonade leans into the hotel’s Indian Art Deco style. Both feature a mix of Indian and international fare, while the latter also serves high tea.

Fairmont Jaipur (Kukas)

The Fairmont is a luxury hotel in Jaipur’s Kukas suburb (it neighbors Raffles). Mughal domes, Rajputana jaali walls and archways, lotus‑inspired fountains and hand‑painted frescoes give the hotel a castle-like appearance. The hotel has over 200 rooms and surprisingly approachable rates. Even entry-tier rooms have hardwood floors, marble bathrooms and elegant décor. The best rooms have sweeping views and access to an exclusive lounge for Fairmont Gold guests.

There are three restaurants on site. Zoya serves authentic Indian cuisine. Zarin The Pan Asian’s menu is influenced by Japanese, Chinese and Thai cuisine. And Zia — only open in winter — serves a fusion of Indian and American BBQ. Fairmont Jaipur also has a large outdoor pool, an Indian spa, a fitness center and a hammam. Also enjoy curated experiences like hot-air balloon rides, safaris and tours of historic sites.

Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar (Dholai)

Hyatt Regency is one of the best hotels in Jaipur if you’re looking for high-end accommodations, a central location and approachable rates. It’s located in the Dholai area of the city’s Mansarovar district, around 20 minutes from Jaipur’s historic center. The style and amenities will be familiar to Western guests: pleasant but standardized entry-tier rooms (with a/c), outdoor pools, a fitness center and a spa. There’s also a casual Indian restaurant, an international option and two cocktail bars, one of which doubles as a pastry shop.

  • Fora’s Hyatt Privé partner perks include a $100 hotel credit, a welcome amenity, daily breakfast, an upgrade and extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Add-on destinations: luxury hotels in the greater Jaipur area

The hotels and resorts below are anywhere from an hour to three hours away from Jaipur proper. Think of these properties as bucket-list, standalone destinations that take advantage of their exotic settings. Jaipur is still within reach, though; in fact, these resorts typically offer curated experiences exploring the city (and elsewhere).

Six Senses Fort Barwara (2.5 hours from Jaipur)

A chic hotel suite living room with vintage furniture, chevron hardwood floors, pleasant accents and plenty of space

Six Senses Fort Barwara is an incredible resort that emphasizes luxurious, sustainable hospitality. This all-suites property is a renovated fortress complex from the 1300s and includes two palaces, two temples and stunning grounds.

“Six Senses Fort Barwara is great for anyone seeking a sanctuary in Jaipur’s chaotic and stimulating environment,” Fora Advisor Jenn King said.

Great care has been taken to preserve the original atmosphere and aesthetic of the historic site while maintaining a level of service and amenities discerning travelers will appreciate. Lavish suites, some with private terrace pools, prioritize comfort and space. The design blends contemporary Rajasthani styles with the fort’s historic — and tranquil — nature.

“This is not just any luxury hotel — it's an incredible restoration of history and royalty,” Stephanie said. “It has a calm, almost spiritual energy with the help of the property’s private, 280-year-old temple and Moghal-era architecture.”

The resort is roughly 2.5 hours from Jaipur, set amid rolling hills, overlooking a small village and lake. Though remote, Six Senses Fort Barwara doesn’t lack things to do. Enjoy a curated safari into Ranthambore National Park, where tigers are regularly spotted. Unwind and rejuvenate with tech-forward and Ayurvedic spa treatments. Immerse yourself in Hindu culture with evening spiritual rituals (one of our advisors’ favorite highlights on their Northern India tour).

“Six Senses Fort Barwara is actual heaven,” Alexandra said.

Amanbagh (1.5 hours from Jaipur)

Aman hotels are renowned for their seamless combination of chic-minimalist design, wellness and commitment to celebrating local culture. Amanbagh is a secluded haven in a valley at the foot of the Aravalli Hills, around 1.5–2 hours from Jaipur. Crumbling, centuries-old fortifications welcome you as you approach the resort. Its design reinterprets Mughal and Rahasthani architecture through the lens of Aman’s signature, ultra-sleek style. The contrast between the resort’s contemporary design, the outlying historic ramparts and the verdant hillscape is striking.

Amanbagh’s suites, some with private pools and pavilions, offer ample comfort and privacy. All stays include breakfast, afternoon tea, morning yoga sessions and guided tours of the historic property or gardens. You’ll love the luxurious spa treatments at the Aman Spa, which offers tailored multi-day treatments on top of an expansive Ayurvedic spa menu. Dining celebrates Northern Indian cuisine and can be enjoyed at Aman’s signature restaurant or anywhere on the property. Everything is regionally sourced, and most produce is harvested from on-site gardens.

Suján Sher Bagh (3 hours from Jaipur)

A tiger casually walks across a road in Ranthambore National Park with a safari 4x4 some ways behind it

If you’re obsessed with wildlife, natural beauty and luxe design, Suján Sher Bagh is a dream come true. Jaisal Singh built Suján Sher Bagh on his family’s property just outside Ranthambhore National Park, where his father Tejbir Singh sparked a passion for wildlife photography and conservation (in fact, the family’s Jungles of Rajasthan was among the first Indian documentaries on native wildlife). That legacy is evident throughout the resort, which only has a dozen double-bedroom tents decorated in a 1920s-safari-chic style. Each tent is thoughtfully designed; they’re thematic, but not at the expense of comfort, style or space.

Keeping with the Singh legacy, photography and admiration of wildlife are cornerstones of the resort. Suján Sher Bagh sponsors twice-a-day safaris into Ranthambhore (if you don’t have your own, they have loaner cameras). These expert-led expeditions regularly witness tigers, sloth bears, hyenas, macaques and dozens of other species. When you’re not enjoying the wilderness, savor a mix of farm-to-table British and Indian cuisine, nature-bound spa treatments, a library-like lounge and a lanterns-only vibe at night, per Kay.

“Leave the kids (under teenage years) at home if you are staying here, because this property is super adult, super seductive and honestly, kids are not the vibe,” Kay said. (Kids are welcome at the property, but the resort mostly caters to adults.)

Alila Fort Bishangarh (1 hour from Jaipur)

A minimalist but pleasant hotel room with Indian accents and hardwood furniture

Alila Fort Bishangarh, formerly a massive hilltop fortress, is another luxurious, though approachable, hotel in the Jaipur area. By day, the hotel is an imposing sight. By night, golden lights make it shine like a beacon for miles — the views from the resort’s elevated perch are even better.

The property was purchased in 2007, sparking a decade-long restoration project. Much of the original architecture was preserved, while new additions source inspiration from Jaipur Gharana styles. A romantic vibe permeates the property, ignited by lantern-lit courtyards, a high-end spa with couples' treatments and the old fort’s exclusive setting. The hotel has around 50 rooms and suites, all of which offer profound views. The best units feature oversized bathrooms or outdoor hot tubs.

The main restaurant serves a mix of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes, along with international favorites. Alila Fort Bishangarh also has a well-stocked English-Hindi library, lounges with live music, a spa, a gym and an infinity pool.

Fall through spring is the best time to visit Jaipur

Fora X Advisor Sujeeth Ponnuswamy, who’s based in India, noted that summer in Jaipur is very hot. He recommended visiting anytime from October to March for cooler temperatures.

Northern India is teeming with wildlife and historical landmarks

Many of the best hotels in Jaipur now are historic landmarks themselves, but don’t miss places like the Amber Fort and City Palace, which celebrate the city’s royal heritage and architecture. Just as critical, wildlife reserves around Jaipur are one of the few places in the world where you can still witness megafauna like elephants in their natural habitats.

“Whether you’re enjoying a jeep safari, a peaceful evening under the stars or a stroll with elephants, it’s a truly relaxing experience that lets you connect with Rajasthan’s beauty,” Judy said, highlighting their time in Dera Amer, a smaller retreat of natural brushland.
