Go wild with Fora

Tailored planning: Safari logistics are next-level — beyond your average trip. Fora Advisors mind all the details, from lodging to guiding to bush-plane transfers, ensuring the only wild adventure you have is the one you planned.

Personal recommendations: Following the Great Migration across the Serengeti and tracking tigers in India are equally thrilling — and wildly different. A Fora Advisor will match you to your ideal safari style so that you get that once-in-a-lifetime trip in the place — and price range — that suits you best.

Insider intel: Some safari lodges have connecting family tents, while others are adults-only. Some are designed for wheelchair users, while others present mobility challenges. Your Fora Advisor has the connections and nuance you can't find on the internet, so they can match you to the perfect camp.

Still have questions?

Working with a Fora travel agent levels up your vacation experience. A travel agent handles all the logistics — on-the-ground transfers, hotel and tour bookings, itinerary planning — so you can get the most out of your trip, without any of the stress.

When booking your trip through a Fora Advisor, you’ll also benefit from the partnerships we have with more than 8,200 hotels and travel providers around the world, including Virtuoso, Four Seasons, Rosewood, Belmond and beyond. (Read more about our partners.) Say hello to room upgrades, complimentary breakfasts, resort credits and top-tier treatment.

Fora Advisors don’t charge anything for most hotel bookings. Advisors receive commissions from properties and travel providers, at no additional cost to you. For more complicated multi-stop itineraries, Fora Advisors may charge a planning fee. This will always be transparently presented upfront.

All over Africa. But don't underestimate safaris in destinations like Bhutan, India, Sri Lanka and Brazil. A Fora Advisor will match you with the best locale based on your interests and goals.

South Africa is excellent for your first safari, or your first visit to Africa in general. You'll see a variety of game and get to experience Cape Town's thriving art and food scenes.

Safaris are perfect for honeymooners, multi-generational families, couples and solo travelers alike. However, some lodges and destinations are better suited for one type of traveler. Your Fora Advisor will curate the safari itinerary that works best for your style, budget and group (or lack thereof).

Yes. However, some lodges don't accept children, and others don't have the ability to connect rooms, as you'll likely stay in tents. Your Fora Advisor will recommend the best lodges based on whom you're traveling with.

Also keep in mind that most safaris involve early mornings and long game drives, which may not always be ideal for little ones.

Safaris are usually all-inclusive, meaning all meals, internal transportation, activities and lodging are included in one upfront sum. The value of this sum depends on where you go, when you go and where you stay. Expect to pay at least $13,000 for safaris lasting more than seven days.

You can safari year round, but some times of year are ideal for certain activities and sightings. In Kenya, for instance, the dry season extends from June to October. This period is ideal for witnessing the Great Migration. In South Africa, you'll have the mildest weather in spring (September to November) and fall (March to May). But if you want to see whales, visit between June and December.

If you're considering the Galápagos, Brazil, India or elsewhere, the best times to go on safari vary. A Fora Advisor will help you decide when to safari based on your priorities (weather, wildlife sightings, etc.).

Bring layers. It can get chilly during early game drives and evening sundowners. During the day, temperatures climb. Make sure your clothing is comfortable and neutral — avoid bright colors and distracting patterns.

Allot at least seven days, although 10-14 days are ideal. This amount of time allows you to settle in (especially after long travel days) and see different parts of your destination. It also increases the likelihood you'll see what you came for (gorillas, tigers, lions, et. al.), as some days on safaris yield less sightings than others. Patience and trust are key.
