Best Hotels & Things to Do in Ho Chi Minh City

Curated by
Jennifer Schwartz
Ho Chi Minh is an energetic and vibrant city on the bank of the Saigon River. The energy of the city is evident from the moment you step outside of your hotel. You’ll be swept up by the dizzying sounds, smells and traffic patterns. As you’re touring around the city, don’t forget to stop, and stop often, for mouth-watering street food.

Culture Rich Itinerary to Vietnam & Cambodia

Curated by
Jen Barnes
The long flight and time away from home made this destination unattractive to my family, but I was so curious about this part of the world and the differences in culture compared to how I live. So, I scooped up a friend and we were off to tour and explore. This is a difficult destination to piece things together and we felt we definitely needed the help of “on the ground” support, especially for transportation. We saw some beautiful places, met some amazing people and had incredible learning experiences. It was all worth it!

7-Day Itinerary to Explore Vietnam to the Brim

Curated by
Anny Chen
Now that Vietnam has once again opened up to travelers, there is no better time to explore this rich and vibrant country. Roughly the size of Italy, this Southeast Asian country is known for its incredible food (birthplace of banh mi and pho,) beautiful pristine beaches, rivers and green lush mountains. Incredibly diverse from the north to the south, you can be surrounded by ancient rice paddies and majestic mountains in the morning, take a quick flight south and be on some of the most pristine and unspoiled beaches by the afternoon. This itinerary for a seven day trip, however, extra days can be added in for a full 10 day trip if desired. The shape of the country is like a long narrow S curving down, so internal flights are usually the best way to get from point A to point B. However, this specific itinerary takes advantage of a luxury train from Da Nang to Quy Nhon, so there is only 1 internal flight needed to maximize the best use of your time when you’re there.

Uniworld Cruises' Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & The Mekong

Curated by
Jeff Goldstein
In February of 2025, I did a luxury cruise tour with Uniworld Boutique River Cruises onboard the Mekong Jewel. The amazing staff and tour director made everything seamless, from our airport transfer in Hanoi to our departure transfer in Saigon. In between were stays in beautiful five-star hotels, amazing tours in some off-the-beaten-path spots and, of course, the luxurious cruise accommodations aboard the 60-guest Mekong Jewel. This was a combination of metropolitan life, natural and historic wonders, the reality of past war and local life along the river.

Three Days in Ninh Binh & Tam Coc: Exploring Vietnam’s Halong Bay on Land

Curated by
Steph Hays
Halong Bay is one of Vietnam’s most famous destinations, and for good reason — its emerald waters and towering limestone karsts make for a breathtaking landscape. However, it’s also one of the most tourist-heavy spots in the country. If you’re looking for a more serene and equally stunning alternative, Ninh Binh should be on your radar. I’m a huge fan of this swap that puts you in paradise a mere 2.5 hour drive away from Hanoi and have crafted the perfect itinerary to help you make the most of your time there.
