Curator’s statement

Jamaica is one of my most favorite places to visit. From the beautiful beaches to the delicious food, Jamaica is rich in culture and experiences. I've spent most of my time in Kingston but Ocho Rios and Montego Bay are also very beautiful! Jamaica is absolutely a bucket-list destination!

Things to do in Jamaica

You will find there are many things to do in Jamaica. I spend most of my time in Kingston, but my family always makes sure I never have a dull moment when I go!

Here are a few places I visited and had the time of my life:

Appleton Estates Rum Tour - Learn the history of Appleton Estates and sample some tasty, smooth rum on this interactive tour!

Frenchmen's Cove - Visit a secluded beach cove!

Rick's Cafe - Capture a picture-perfect sunset, listen to live music and watch cliff-divers plunge into clear blue waters!

Ocho Rios Bay Beach - Have some seafood, take a walk along the soft white sand or take a dip in the crystal clear water!

Fort Clarance Beach - Yet another beautiful beach where you'll find some fresh seafood and good music!

Port Royal - You can literally spend the day in Port Royal! Walk the grounds, have a drink at the bar at Morgan's Harbour and eat some delicious food!

Places to eat & drink in Jamaica

Jamaica has some of the most amazing food you will eat. Especially if you like a little (or a lot) of heat. As stated earlier, my personal favorite when I go to Jamaica is stewed chicken. I HAVE to have some stewed chicken and veggies as soon as I land! But you can get stewed chicken anywhere in Jamaica (lucky for me!). There are a few spots that you should check out in Jamaica that have some delicious dining or snack options that don't include stewed chicken.

Here are some of my recommendations:

Devon's House - Has some of the best ice creams you will ever eat!

Chilitos - Jamexican at its finest! If you like good drinks and spicy food, Chilitos is the spot for you!

The Pub Bar and Grill at the Mayfair Hotel - This place has really good drinks and really good wings! This is definitely a spot to grab some drinks and watch the big soccer match!
