My travel style

I always say – you can find me camping in a tent or in a five star boutique luxury hotel with a king bed and bathtub. I want to see the world and tastefully emerge in culture and native life. I appreciate hotels that meet an architecturally impressive design aesthetic, that also incorporate local art, products and culinary into their experience. My ideal vacation combines relaxation a'la a desolate white sand beach and jungle, with options for hiking or adventure, paired with great restaurants (and street food). I used to be a city girl (CDMX being my favorite in recent years), because I love to walk and love art. But I find myself considering those trips less vacations and more opportunities to work remotely, eat my heart's desires and art gallery it up. I overall gravitate towards warmer climates but I also know cold destinations and how to make them cozy and epic. Lastly I believe (as a mom) there are trips and there are vacations – and both can be made magical but serve a different purpose. So planning is all about intentions, desires and embracing the new.

Favorite hotels

Recently returned from:

  • Exploring white sand beaches in Sumba, Indonesia.

  • Solo traveling in Ubud, Bali.

  • Enjoying the sunrises and sunsets in Bacalar, Mexico.

  • Eating all the el pastor tacos and working remotely in CDMX.

Dreaming of:

  • Norway – specifically the Lofoten Islands in early fall.

  • The Galapagos Islands – rainforest explorations and snorkeling are the agenda.

  • Colombia – the San Andres Islands and Medellin for colorful warmth and culture.

  • Philippines – island hopping and lush green vibes on hidden beaches with no plans.

One thing I can't travel without...

My Saie facial sunscreen.

Two truths, one lie:

  1. I prefer to be cold over hot.

  2. Air France lost my luggage once and ended up paying for my travels for a week in Italy.

  3. I have had three hurricanes impact vacations while I was there.
