Is it expensive to stay in Grand Cayman?

Grand Cayman is a very popular Caribbean destination among affluent travelers, so yes, it’s generally expensive to visit. It’s also worth noting that the Grand Cayman resorts we’re covering below are world-class options — and have the price tag to go along with it.

But don’t worry if you’d prefer a more affordable vacation. From some of the best areas to stay in Puerto Rico to lovely all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica and beyond, there are so many amazing options throughout the Caribbean for all budgets.

3 of the most luxurious Grand Cayman resorts

Read on for a breakdown of three of our favorite resorts on Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach.

    1. Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, Grand Cayman: a chic contemporary resort on Seven Mile Beach

Chic and fresh, the Seafire opened in 2016, making it one of the newest choices on Seven Mile Beach. In fact, this luxurious Grand Cayman resort distances itself from the styles of more traditional luxury choices along the same stretch of incredible coastline, offering a bold and contemporary take on island decor that’s trendy and youthful, but not at the expense of its high-class offerings.

The appeal to a younger crowd also makes this one of the more adventurous resorts on the island, with a livelier nightlife and plenty to do in terms of on-site activities. But don’t worry, if you’re only here to relax, the Seafire still accommodates.

Amenity-wise, you can expect nothing short of world-class service, expansive rooms and suites (as well as a few different bungalows to choose from) and a mix of elevated local and international cuisine at the Seafire.

Oh, and this resort has a kids' club, too.

    Fora Perks at the Seafire:

    • $100 hotel / resort credit.

    • Breakfast daily.

    • Upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

    2. Palm Heights: an intimate Grand Cayman resort focused on wellness & luxury

The newest Grand Cayman resort, Palm Heights, is notably smaller than the other two choices — so it doesn’t have quite as many amenities and options — but the trade-off is that it’s exceptionally intimate, with a major focus on relaxation. In that sense, Palm Heights is a fantastic choice for couples trips (but there are also one-, two- and three- bedroom suites for larger trips).

In terms of design, Palm Heights forgoes the bold and vibrant theme and decor boasted by the Seafire in favor of a subtler, more elegant style.

    3. The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman: one of the island’s most prestigious resorts

While technically the oldest of our three Grand Cayman resorts, The Ritz-Carlton underwent significant renovations in 2022 to modernize its appeal and amenities while maintaining its classy look and sophistication.

Arguably the most luxurious of the three (which is really saying something), The Ritz-Carlton spares no expense in ensuring guests are well taken care of from the time they walk through the resort’s ornate, stone entrance to the time they leave.

Sidenote: this is the only Grand Cayman resort on our list with an attached golf course.
