Blue water of Cayman Island
Curator’s statement

Grand cayman is the biggest of three islands located just south of Cuba. With many direct flights from the US, this little paradise has everything you look for in a relaxing yet adventurous holiday trip. From luxurious Hotels and the most amazing restaurants serving local and international dishes to incredible spots to go snorkeling and diving, we tried everything Grand Cayman had to offer in our five day trip to the island. The most pleasant surprise here was the beauty of Seven Mile Beach and its peace and quiet. Here is a small itinerary of what made us fall in love with every place in the island!

Day 1: Arriving at Grand Cayman

Dinner served with a fish

As you step off the plane at Owen Roberts International Airport, the warm Caribbean breeze welcomes you to Grand Cayman.

I recommend checking in at the hotel conveniently located along Seven Mile Beach, known for its stunning white sands and crystal-clear waters. After settling in, I suggest taking a leisurely stroll along the beach to unwind and soak in the island vibes. Stop at any of the bars and enjoy some drinks while being mesmerized by the incredible sunset.

For dinner, sample some delicious Caribbean cuisine at one of the many restaurants that line the waterfront.

Day 2: Visit Stingray City and Starfish Point

Stingray in Blue Water

In the morning, it's off to Stingray City, embarking on a once in a lifetime adventure towards Stingray city sandbar where you will have a face to face encounter with the stingrays (literally they will kiss you if you come close to them!). Play around with the stingrays as you snorkel around this area discovering the amazing underwater world. This is one of the most unique experiences on the island, wading in the shallow waters with these friendly stingrays is a memory you won't forget. (Important Tip! Don't forget to bring an underwater camera to capture the moment). Afterwards the tour will take you into the beauty of Coral Gardens and the barrier reef. Snorkeling in warm, crystal-clear water among fish, coral, sponges and sea fans. Finishing off this tour you will visit the calm, shallow sandy beach called Starfish point. This spot is fully populated with radiant starfish that you can gently touch and hold (under the water) for perfect holiday snapshots.

You will be back in time to enjoy an amazing lunch at one of the beautiful restaurants in the hotel and relax by the beach during the afternoon.

In the evening, I recommend dining at a local restaurant where you can savor fresh seafood dishes and mingle with the friendly locals.

Day 3: All About Turtles and Exploring

Snokerling

Starting the day visiting the Cayman Turtle Centre. As a travel advisor, I highly recommend this attraction, where you can interact with these gentle creatures and learn about their conservation efforts.

Dedicate the afternoon to water adventures, whether it's snorkelling or diving at one of the world-class sites. Explore the vibrant underwater world, teeming with marine life. I suggest snorkelling or diving at the USS Kittiwake where you will find an ex-US Navy ship that was intentionally sank to create a great new dive site.

In the evening, enjoy a beachside dinner, and perhaps even some stargazing, as the night skies are awe-inspiring.

Day 4: Experiencing the Island From Above

the shore of a white sand beach with a palm tree and clear blue waters

Venture into a once-in-a-lifetime experience going on a helicopter ride all around Grand Cayman admiring the breathtaking and unique perspective of the island's beauty and natural wonders.

The tour begins with a dramatic lift-off from the helipad. As the helicopter ascends, you'll witness the stunning coastline of Grand Cayman, with its turquoise waters and coral reefs. Your helicopter will follow the shoreline, giving you a bird's-eye view of Seven Mile Beach and continuing towards one of the highlights of the tour, flying over Stingray City and the Sandbar. You'll get to witness these iconic sites from above. Throughout the tour, you'll also enjoy views of the island's lush greenery, palm-fringed beaches, and the vibrant colors of the Caribbean landscape. The contrast between the land and sea creates a beautiful visual spectacle.

Relax during the afternoon by the beach while enjoying some water activities like kayaking or paddle boarding.

For your last evening on Grand Cayman, treat yourself to a sunset cruise offering a perfect farewell to the island's beauty.

Day 5: Relax Before Departure

Your final day in Grand Cayman is all about relaxation. Spend your morning basking in the sun on Seven Mile Beach, perhaps indulging in a beachfront massage.

In the afternoon, check out from the Hotel and head to the airport for your departure, taking with you unforgettable memories of your Cayman Islands adventure.
