Day 1: Arrive in Rome

Sunset from balcony.

After touching down in Rome post-red-eye, drop your bags at the hotel and head straight to the iconic Spanish Steps for a dose of city vibes. Once you're checked in, don't overthink it – find the nearest joint for some hearty pasta and pizza. Trust me, it's hard to go wrong.

As the sun sets, make your way to La Terrazza at Hotel Eden for happy hour with a killer view overlooking Rome. Panoramic scenes, light bites and good vibes – the perfect intro to the city.

And because it's Italy, you can't skip gelato. Swing by Giolitti for a scoop, letting the sweet indulgence kick off your Roman adventure. Laughter, Roman warmth and that first gelato – consider your Italian journey officially started!

Day 2: Roam and Revel in Rome

View through arch of an old building.

Start your day at the Pantheon, soak up its ancient vibes, then wander over to the Colosseum for some epic exploration. When hunger strikes, hit up Pane e Salame for a killer charcuterie board, panini and mandatory Aperol Spritz – good vibes guaranteed.

Come evening, cross the Tiber to Biblio Bar Roma. Sip on wine, soak in live tunes, all with the dreamy backdrop of Castel Sant'Angelo. Trust me, it became our go-to spot; we kept coming back for those perfect Roman nights. Here's to day two – where history meets hedonism in the best way!

Day 3: Vatican Vibes and Evening Elegance

Fountain with statues at night.

Embark on day three with a visit to Vatican City, where history meets spirituality. Take your time wandering through the awe-inspiring sights, soaking in the artistry of the Vatican Museums and the grandeur of St. Peter's Basilica.

As the sun sets, switch gears and hop on a scooter for a magical evening tour of Rome's iconic attractions. It's not just a ride; it's an enchanting and romantic experience. Cruise back to the Colosseum, where the night casts an entirely different spell on this ancient marvel.

Now, you might be wondering about the Trevi Fountain. Hold that thought until the night falls because that's when it truly shines. No crowds, just the sound of flowing water and the soft glow of the fountain. Oh, and here's a little secret – beside the Trevi Fountain, there's the Fountain of Love. Few know about it, but it's the perfect spot for a romantic sip of the famous Roman water. Trust me, it's worth the wait! Cheers to another day of unforgettable Roman adventures.

Day 4: Naples and Amalfi Adventure

A vintage white car.

Pack your bags and head to the train station because today marks the journey to Naples! Board a train to Napoli Centrale, and here's a little tip – if you're up for a treat, consider splurging on business class. The private room is a game-changer, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Enjoy the scenic ride as you make your way to Naples.

Upon arrival, pick up your classic Fiat from Spider Lifestyle for the ultimate Italian road trip to the Amalfi Coast! Choose any of the charming towns; we opted for Atrani. After settling in, take a leisurely stroll to Amalfi for a self-guided Limoncello walking tour. Our favorite spot? A tiny bar tucked behind Lo Smeraldino restaurant – a hidden gem we stumbled upon and struggled to find on the map. Sip and savor the flavors of the Amalfi Coast, toasting to the start of a beautiful coastal escapade. Cheers to Amalfi adventures!

Day 5: Amalfi Allure

Buildings on hills at sea coast.

Wake up to the charming streets of Amalfi calling your name. Embark on a leisurely stroll, savoring a cone of calamari paired with an ice-cold Peroni – the perfect Amalfi snack. Marvel at the colossal lemons that adorn the streets, a sight you won't find anywhere else.

After exploring, hit the beach for some sun-soaked relaxation and perhaps a bit of getting lost – after all, that's where the best discoveries happen. Scoop up a bottle of Limoncello as a sweet souvenir before heading back to your hotel for a blissful pool day.

As the sun begins its descent, prepare for a culinary delight at the most incredible fort-turned-restaurant at the Hotel Luna. Indulge in a dinner that combines history, breathtaking views, and exquisite flavors. Let the evening unfold in the shadows of the Amalfi Coast, creating memories that linger long after the last bite. Here's to the magic of day five in Amalfi!

Day 6: Positano Perfection

Bar with blue chairs on a terrace near coast.

Hop on the ferry to Positano for a day of coastal bliss. Grab a seat by an open window, let the breeze tousle your hair, and enjoy the scenic ride. Fingers crossed you snagged those beach chairs at Lido L'Incanto in advance – the front row is gold, and it fills up fast. Soak up the sun, maybe take a daring dip if you're feeling it.

Post-beach, grab a frozen lemonade at the town's bottom and start the climb. Pause at Le Sirenuse, soak in the views (you might recognize it from the movie Only You). But here's the can't-miss – Franco's Bar. We had to wait for it to open, and there was a line down the block by the time they let us in. Totally worth it for those unmatched views.

Before calling it a night, swing by Fior di Pizza in Amalfi and grab a pizza. Trust me, it's the perfect way to end an epic day in Positano.

Day 7: Florence Flourish

Leather market during evening.

Jump on the train to Florence and, as soon as you arrive, kick off your day with a stroll to marvel at the Duomo. Take your time soaking in the beauty of this iconic structure. Meander through the nearby leather market, where artisanal crafts beckon.

Feel the whimsy at the Piazza della Repubblica – take a spin on the carousel, because why not?

Now, for the highlight of the day – head to Trattoria Dall'Oste for a meal that will be your absolute favorite of the entire trip. Order a sumptuous Beef Florentine paired with a bottle of Brunello de Montalcino. It's a culinary symphony that will linger in your memory long after you've left Florence. Cheers to day seven – where Florence works its magic on your senses!

Day 8: Florence Finesse

Wine glass on a balcony.

Dive into the heart of Florence at Mercato Centrale for a shopping spree – food, flowers and fresh juices. Cross the river and snag tickets to explore the enchanting Giardino di Boboli, where every step feels like a journey through history.

Lunchtime calls for a famous Florence panini at Il Fratellini. Take it to the streets and devour it like a local. Next up, satisfy your sweet tooth with gelato from Corona's Cafe – trust me, despite looking touristy, it was my go-to throughout the entire trip.

Cap off the day with a rooftop happy hour at View on Art Rooftop Cocktail Bar. Sip on your favorite concoction while soaking in a sunset view overlooking the Duomo.

Day 9: Sweet and Savory in Florence

Pastries on a wooden tray.

Start your day on a sweet note with classic Florentine pastries – Schiacciata all'uva and Mille-Feuille from Caffe Gilli. Let the rich flavors set the tone for another delightful day in Florence.

Head to Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic overlook of the city. The view is not just breathtaking; it's Florence in all its glory.

Lunch calls for more indulgence at La Prosciutteria Firenze. Dive into charcuterie paired with local wines, savoring every bite and sip.

Cap off your time in Florence with a stop at the famous Vivoli for gelato. It's a Florence tradition, and no trip is complete without a scoop (or two) of their heavenly creations. Day nine – a perfect blend of sweet and savory in the heart of Florence!

Day 10: Cinque Terre Tranquility

Pie and coffee in a cafe.

Embark on a scenic train ride to Cinque Terre, finding your haven in Riomaggiore. Here, the agenda is simple – soak in the breathtaking views, sip on local wine, and simply relax. And surprise! In this quaint town, there's a Michelin-starred gem waiting for you – dinner at Ristorante Dau Cila promises an unforgettable culinary experience.

Afterwards, stop by Vinoteka, grab a bottle, and retreat to your balcony. Let the sunset cast its warm hues over the horizon as you savor every moment and sip. Day 10 in Riomaggiore – where simplicity meets Michelin-starred magic.

Day 11: Seaside Serenity in Cinque Terre

Wine by sunset.

Embark on a leisurely wander through Riomaggiore, soaking in the charm of this coastal haven. Later, hop on a boat tour – an adventure that promises not just breathtaking views but also homemade fresh focaccia paired with local wine. Cruise to each of the five Cinque Terre towns, delving into their rich history.

Here's a delightful surprise – your guide might just be an opera singer, serenading you with tales of Cinque Terre's past. It's a touch of magic that makes this coastal exploration truly unforgettable. Day 11 – where the sea whispers stories and every moment feels like a verse in a coastal serenade.

Day 12: Venice Voyage

City canal with boats.

Embark on the enchanting journey to Venice by train. It's a bit of a haul, and chances are you'll arrive in the evening. Consider this day a travel interlude – kick back, take it easy, and let the anticipation of Venice's magic build. Sometimes, the journey is as much a part of the adventure as the destination. Day 12 – a slow glide into the arms of Venice's timeless allure.

Day 13: Venetian Delights

Stalls in city streets.

Embark on a whimsical journey through the winding roads of Venice. Revel in the artistry displayed in the myriad galleries and admire the craftsmanship of the small shops that adorn every corner – from elegant gowns to intricately crafted masks and mesmerizing glasswork.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting ambiance of live music echoing through Palazzo San Marco. Let the melodies guide you through the heart of this canal-kissed city.

And, of course, no visit to Venice is complete without a glide on a gondola. Surrender to the charm of the canals as you navigate through this city that feels like a living, breathing masterpiece. Day 13 – a symphony of art, craftsmanship and romance in the magical embrace of Venice.

Day 14: Homeward Bound

Aerial view of Rome city.

Fly back to Rome and bid farewell to the enchanting journey that wove through the heart of Italy's wonders. Reflect on the memories of ancient cities, coastal treasures, and the unique charm of each destination.

As you board your flight home, carry with you the echoes of laughter, the taste of exquisite cuisine, and the timeless allure of Italy. Day 14 – the final chapter of a journey that etched the beauty of Italy into the tapestry of your travel adventures. Until the next adventure, arrivederci!
