city view
Curator’s statement

Lisboa (Lisbon) is one of the oldest cities in the world and also one of the best to bring small children! The children will love to watch penguins waddle and otters play at the Oceanário de Lisboa (Lisbon Oceanarium), one of the largest aquariums in Europe. Perhaps after the aquarium your little ones will enjoy the splashpad just outside at Parque da Naçoes. This city is full of authentic Portuguese dining and street food, and play for little ones! Lisboa is a diverse city, with popular Sintra and Cascais nearby for beaches and more rich history.

Things to do in Lisbon, Portugal

park

Oceanarium of Lisbon: It is a wonderful aquarium.

Estadio da Luz: Famous football stadium home to Benfica club, stop by for a game or a guided tour!

Fabrica de Nata: A Paderia (bakery) with the best natas in the city! This custard pastry is famous from this region of Portugal.

Telecabine Lisboa: A journey between the river and the sky, where you can admire Parque das Nações and have a panoramic view of the Tagus River estuary and the south bank of Lisbon.

Parque Florestal de Monsanto: The welcoming ambiance of the flora here is perfect for a hike, but you'll also find insights into geology, the fauna, and the climate, as the park strives to raise awareness about these issues. It's located in the Monsanto hills just west of the city center.

Hire a photographer!: I highly recommend a photographer to take family pictures of you with your loved ones for memories to last a lifetime.

Castelo de Sao Jorge: The prominent 11th-century Castelo de São Jorge. There will be stunning views of Lisbon with the kids.

Public transportation: The metrobus is a must with little ones!

Day Trips:

Beach day in Cascais: There are 4 beaches in Cascais, two are great for a beach day and also very popular destinations.

Day trip to Sintra: Pena Palace, beaches, shops, and ocean views.

Day trip to Nazare and Fatima: Private tours are available to these destinations as half-day or full-day trips. Nazare has the biggest waves in the world.

Fatima has Nossa Senhora da Fatima, a famous Catholic religious miracle site. Your car will pick you up at the hotel and transport you for the day.
