Things to do in Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Since Guanacaste is nestled on the coastline, thrill seekers can opt for adventure on a buggy tour. Costa Rica is home to national parks and volcanos for the nature seeker. Rincón de la Vieja is one of those national parks. There, you can go hiking, zip-line, horseback riding and even relax in hot springs.

Tamarindo is a town located in Guanacaste Province and also offers a host of things to do.

You can set sail on a catamaran and snorkel or watch the sunset while onboard. You can stay on land and enjoy ATV on the beach. Become one with wildlife by visiting a sloth sanctuary. Guanacaste provides a wide range of activities for the solo traveler, family fun, and any group looking for thrills.

The PERFECT time to take a day trip would be when visiting Guanacaste. The region is close enough to travel to Nicaragua and who wouldn't want to visit TWO countries in ONE trip?!

Places to eat & drink in Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Food is one of the best components when traveling to a destination. Focusing on local spots, one of the best places to enjoy dinner with a view is Sentido Norte. Another spot with a view is Coco Loco, it's a great spot to grab drinks and food while soaking up the sun on the beach.

For fresh seafood options try Kimbute, La Casita del Marisco or Lola's, another location on the beach. The Shack offers chill vibes where you can enjoy a meal and drink while in a friendly atmosphere.

Some notable cafes in the region are Surf Box, La Bodega and Bohemia Cafe. They each bring a wide variety of breakfast servings and coffee you cannot get enough of!
