We love our pets; our fur babies are such an intrinsic part of our lives that, chances are, you fall asleep with a snuggle bug tucked by your feet, and wake up with them stealing your pillow. For many, the idea of traveling without their pets is too gut-wrenching to bare. Thankfully, there are a slew of pet-friendly hotels that welcome dogs, cats and even feathery friends.

Cat owners, we hear you and we see you. We know it seems like dogs get all the perks, but rest assured there are hotels where feline friends are welcome, and this is one of them. The Liberty Hotel in Boston is a 4-star pet-friendly hotel that is part of the Marriott group. The Liberty allows two pets (no size or weight restriction) for an additional fee of $100 per stay. The hotel’s 6th and 12th floors are the designated pet-friendly areas where guests will check-in to rooms with all the expected amenities for pets, including water bowls, pet beds and treats. For cat owners wondering how to handle an on-the-go litter box situation, you can find collapsible litter boxes sold on Chewy, which are purrr-fect (we couldn’t resist) for traveling.

Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa

Nestled in the Coachella Valley of Palm Springs, the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa is a sprawling desert resort appearing like an oasis surrounded by sand. This dog-friendly Marriott hotel offers guests waterslides, pools, a fitness center, spa and on-site dining. If you’re looking for a getaway with your pup, the Westin Rancho Mirage is a great option for those with dogs under 50 pounds. There is an additional fee of $50 per stay, and pets cannot be left unattended in their rooms, but worry not — the resort has plenty of outdoor dining options for you and fido to enjoy a meal side-by-side. For those traveling with pets and large groups, it’s worth noting that the private villa rentals are not dog-friendly.

Or, take your furry-friend to the coast like Fora Advisor Aimee Suthann in Dog-Friendly Getaway to Santa Barbara, California. You can also have him tag along to check out the Palm Springs mid-century architecture scene.

The Kimpton Hotel Palomar in Beverly Hills is the place to stay if you want to channel your inner Paris Hilton, traveling around Los Angeles with her Pomeranian puppy in her tote bag. Considered one of the best pet-friendly hotels in Los Angeles, both dogs and cats are welcome at this Kimpton hotel for no additional pet fee. There are no limitations here on size, weight, number of pets or even species (this pet-friendly hotel chain welcomes birds and reptiles, too).

Plus, be sure to hit a Santa Barbara dog beach nearby.

Kimpton Hotel Palomar San Diego

Did we mention that Kimpton Hotels is a pet-friendly hotel chain? This San Diego location is not only a paw-tastic boutique hotel, but it’s located in the uber-cool Gaslamp neighborhood where you’ll find a 16-block radius of fantastic dining, shopping, nightlife, theaters and art galleries. For pet owners, this Kimpton hotel shares a similar pet policy with its Los Angeles sister — there are no additional pet fees and no restrictions on weight and size — with the added bonus of being next door to the PetCo Park and within dog-walking distance of many pet-friendly establishments.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC

So, you’re looking for a cultural stay in the nation’s capital where fido is welcome. Lucky for you, there’s a Kimpton hotel centrally located in the popular Penn Quarter. Like the other Kimpton properties on this list, there are no pet fees or restrictions for your furry (or feathery or scaly) friend, but you will be asked to fill out a pet registration form and keep your pet caged during house cleaning visits. Unlike some other Kimpton properties, this one does apply fees for any messes or damages left behind. For those without pets, adorably, the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC offers a goldfish bowl to keep you company. How cute is that?
