A Recap of Fora’s First-Ever Live Forum in NYC

Have you heard the news? Across the bridge from Manhattan, Williamsburg was abuzz last week thanks to unseasonably warm weather, pre-marathon energy and – mostly importantly –  Fora’s first-ever Live Forum.

The event welcomed more than 40 Fora Advisors from around the globe (from Norway to SoCal) for three days of workshops, inspiration and networking. With the chic Hoxton hotel as their home base, advisors spent their days engaging with industry experts, meeting one-on-one with Fora HQ members and hobnobbing with key travel suppliers. They gained insight on everything from brand-building to sustainable travel – all in the name of leveling up their travel advisor businesses, together. Plus, advisors expanded their network through intimate panel discussions with leading industry voices. Among them: hoteliers like Thomas Carreras, GM of Four Seasons NYC Downtown, DMC leaders like Hicham Mhammedi Alaoui of Experience Morocco (check out this 10-day Morocco itinerary), and marketing extraordinaires like Anders Lindström, Head of PR & Communications, the Americas at Hurtigruten Group.

Although it was a meetings extravaganza (320 meetings, to be exact), worry not: Live Forum wasn’t all work, no play – far from it. Days were punctuated with meals at the Hoxton’s award-winning Israeli restaurant, Laser Wolf. And the event culminated with a festive night of cocktails at the Standard East Village Penthouse.
