Curator’s statement
As the most northeastern state of America, Maine truly feels like someplace special. With charming towns along its stunning coast, there is so much to explore. Maine boasts countless scenic drives, hikes, and historic sights. In Bar Harbor, hikers of all skill levels can marvel at the highest peak in the northeast: Cadillac Mountain. Along Cape Elizabeth, is the majestic Portland Head Light and surfers’ beloved Higgins Beach. Foodies and lobster lovers flock to Old Port, a district within the state capital, Portland. Mariners and history fans can explore numerous museums and historical sites, such as Maine’s Maritime Museum. For the old salt at heart, lobster catching and sunset excursions are a perfect way to adventure.

Things to do in Maine

Central Provisions, an acclaimed restaurant with delish caviar in Old Port, Portland
Hike in Acadia National Park: Perfect for families, you can easily drive around the whole park. My favorite places are the Jordan Pond House for a quick bite, Sand Beach to take it all in, and Otter's Cliff to watch the boats pass by.
Embark on a lobster-catching excursion: With multiple fisheries in Portland, you can catch your very own Maine lobster, and eat it fresh.
Sip on Bald Head Coffee Co. cozy by the fire: Cliffhouse Maine's exclusive and private balconies are the perfect place to snuggle up with a great latte.
Enjoy delicious Maine lobster rolls: Maine lobster is famous for a reason. After a long day of hiking, treat yourself to some of the best lobster rolls in the world.
Beach day at Goose Rocks Beach: Family-friendly and clean, this beach is perfect for a day in the sun.
Go for a scenic jog around Portland Head Light: The nicely paved path is perfect for a sunset jog around the lighthouse.
