Curator’s statement
Grand Cayman is a paradise, not far for most East Coast dwellers. The island is beautiful and mostly free of trash, with amazing dining and friendly people. It has quite a few stunning hotels to choose from, as well as countless restaurants. It has the added benefit of English being the primary language and the US dollar being widely accepted.

Things to do on Grand Cayman

Walk a dog from the local humane society
Scuba diving: With warm water and abundant shore diving, Grand Cayman is a divers paradise. There is also a very accessible wreck dive and walls for the more advanced divers.
Bioluminescent Bay: Make sure to check out this bay after dark, where you can experience bioluminescent plankton year-round. Either take a boat or kayak to enjoy this site! Fun for most ages.
Lay on the beach: With many beaches to choose from, soak up some rays!
Cayman Crystal Caves! Don a hard hat and explore the crystal caves on a guided tour. Leave the sunburn behind and descend beneath the island for a tour you won’t soon forget.
Starfish point! Take either a boat or drive over to Starfish Point where you can find starfish steps from the shore. Make sure to leave them be and just enjoy the view.
Stingray City! Take a boat ride out and enjoy an up-close encounter with stingrays. If you dare, get in the water and take a few pictures of your close encounter.
Walk a dog: The humane society on the island is always looking for volunteers to walk the dogs and give them some exercise.
Places to eat & drink on Grand Cayman

An all vegan and gluten free feast at Vivo Cafe
Island Naturals Cafe: A small cafe with a lot of flavor and options! Almost everything is vegan, and mostly gluten-free. They also have a selection of vegan and gluten-free drinks, snacks, and baked goods.
Casa 43 Mexican Kitchen and Bar: Mexican food is not what you think of first in the Caribbean. However, this restaurant was excellent! They have a mix of traditional Tex-Mex, as well as a clearly labeled menu for vegan and celiac-safe options!
Vivo Cafe: Stunning food with an even more stunning view! This out-of-the-way restaurant is right on the water. There are no indoor seats. There is a dedicated fryer for gluten-free items. With an extensive menu of fresh seafood and vegan options, everyone can find something they love.
Island Naturals the Grove: A second restaurant by the same group who opened Island Naturals Cafe. This time a more traditional restaurant with dare I say, better food than Island Naturals Cafe. This location has some meat options but still plenty of vegetarian and vegan food. Most items can be made GF, including the fried items!
Ragazzi Italian and Pizza Restaurant: Sometimes you are just craving some good Italian food. This place hits the spot! It has extensive gluten-free and vegetarian and vegan options!
