I grew up in this unique waterfront town and still visit a few times a year. I love that Annapolis feels different during each season, but my favorite time of year is October, when you're surrounded by crisp air and autumn colors during the annual boat shows. There are plenty of great restaurants, bars and boutiques in walkable downtown, many with live music nightly. Don't miss out on getting live steamed blue crabs by the dozen — locals won't mind teaching you how to open and eat!

An Insider’s Guide to Ocean City, Maryland: Family Fun, Dining & Local Favorites

Ocean City, Maryland, has been my summer home since I was just a few months old. Growing up, my family’s beachfront condo was the setting for countless cherished memories — sun-filled days at the beach or pool that turned into relaxed happy hours at dusk as I got older, boardwalk strolls, Maryland crabs, miniature golf competitions, beach bonfires, park visits and so much more. I even spent a summer working there, deepening my connection to this special place. Now, I get to share the experience with my son, creating new traditions while honoring the ones that have made Ocean City so meaningful to me. While it may not be the fanciest beach town, Ocean City is the perfect laid-back destination, offering something for families with kids of all ages, couples and groups alike.

Combining Work with Play in Baltimore

While attending a conference in Baltimore for work, I chose to stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco rather than the conference-suggested hotels, and what a great decision that turned out to be. The Hotel Monaco was simply stunning and made me feel as if I had stepped back into a time when all that glittered was indeed gold. There was marble as far as the eye could see as well as exquisite chandeliers, crown molding, furniture and accessories that gave the facility a feeling of luxury and prestige. Beyond the beauty of the hotel, the service was amazing. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to my clients.
