Day 1: Arrival & relaxation
After flying to Charleston International Airport, you will make the short trip downtown and check in to your hotel. Charleston is a relatively small city. A rental car will not be a necessity unless you plan to venture outside the historic peninsula multiple times during your trip.
After dropping your luggage off and relaxing for a bit, head to the elegant rooftop Fiat Lux cocktail bar located at Hotel Bennett. See sweeping views of the Charleston peninsula and enjoy a cold beverage to unwind and fall into the easy pace of life in Charleston. Following a few cocktails, you will enjoy a romantic dinner at one of Charleston’s newest hotspots. Verns, an intimate wine bar muse, or the charming Chez Nous. Following dinner, you can head to the Honey Hive dessert bar for a night cap or sweet treat before bed!
Day 2: Exploration & romance
Wake up refreshed and enjoy a complimentary breakfast if staying at a Fora preferred partner property. Or head to one of the many wonderful coffee shops around Charleston for some pastries and a caffeinated beverage of your choice. Babas on Cannon and The Daily offer delicious breakfast and pastry options. Head to Holey City Bagels for the best bagel in town if you’re craving something savory.
If you’re feeling adventurous, this is where a rental car would be useful. Drive the 30–40 minutes to Cypress Gardens. The famous scene from the Notebook was filmed here. You can also rent a canoe to explore the gardens. Another option is Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, where you can enjoy a guided or self-guided walk through the gardens. These gardens have been voted the most beautiful in America by Travel + Leisure magazine.
If you would prefer to stay closer to town, get lost in the historic streets South of Broad, starting at Church St and ending at White Point Gardens. Meander down cobblestone alleyways along the way. Private guided tours are available as well. Grab sandwiches at the Sorelle Mercato or Goat. Sheep. Cow. before your walk to enjoy a picnic lunch when you get to White Point Gardens and the Battery. Be sure not to miss the famous Rainbow Row!
After all of this walking, enjoy a romantic couples massage and spa treatments! If you have any energy left, take in a stunning sunset harbor cruise before having dinner at one of Charleston’s finest dining establishments. The James Beard award-winning FIG, or the elevated Lowcountry cuisine at Circa 1886, set in the original carriage house of the Wentworth Mansion. Fancy a splurge? Try to snag an elusive reservation for the tasting menu at Zero George.
Day 3: Departure & souvenirs
On your last morning, enjoy the famous Gospel Brunch at Halls Chophouse or a delicious southern breakfast at Millers All Day. Breeze through the historic Charleston City Market for some last-minute souvenirs, before heading back to the airport for your flight home.
