Fora’s Take
Dravuni Island, a small beach paradise, is easily accessible by a boat ride from the ship that takes only about ten minutes. Upon disembarking from the tender boat, everything is conveniently within walking distance, making it effortless to explore all the attractions.
The main highlight of Dravuni Island is its breathtaking soft white sandy beaches. Upon arrival, consulting the island map is recommended, and capturing photos of it proves useful. The map guides you to optimal snorkeling areas, prime sunbathing spots, the location of the local village, and the trail leading through the forest to the beach on the opposite side of the island from the tender docking area.

Things to do in Fiji
For snorkeling enthusiasts, there are excellent spots to explore, with the map serving as a helpful reference. One particularly favored spot is on the opposite side of the island, near the rocks, where coral reefs abound, attracting a variety of fish. Caution is advised regarding jellyfish, which, though small and not highly dangerous, can cause discomfort with their stings. These jellyfish are approximately the size of an adult male's hand and are characterized by a white body with a bright blue rim.
Taking a stroll through the local village provides a charming glimpse into the islanders' way of life, with inhabitants residing in hut-like abodes and having chickens and pigs on their land.
The island's forest offers an intriguing walking experience, showcasing a diverse array of tropical plants. However, it's advisable to wear sunscreen as mosquitoes are prevalent in this lush environment. Dravuni Island unfolds as a picturesque destination, inviting visitors to explore its natural beauty and cultural charm.
Places to eat & drink in Fiji
There are no restaurants on the island, but vendors sell their local dishes. The dishes predominantly consist of rice, sweet potatoes, taro (a tropical root vegetable), coconuts, cassava (a starchy shrub), breadfruit and, naturally, fish. Try the roasted fish and enjoy a slice of homemade lemon cake, which is delightful with its pronounced lemon flavor.
Need to know
There is a the local market where sarongs and trinkets are available for purchase. Locals are engaged in cooking and selling BBQ meat along with fruit salads and homemade desserts.
Because of the small size of Dravuni, there are no hotels on the island itself. However, included in the guide are some hotel recommendations on the more-populated islands.
