There are so many wonderful shops and businesses to explore in Prescott. The gorgeous courthouse is in the center of downtown, with several benches and grassy and shaded areas for kiddos to run and play while the adults sit and hang out and take in the scenery. There is so much history in this beautiful city. There is always so much to learn and experience. It’s perfect for a small getaway and ideal for a family or couple's day trip.

There is so much history in this city, so taking a guided tour is a great introduction for anyone who has never been to Prescott. Guided tours are a perfect way to hear the history, learn more from local experts, and slow down from the big city life.

The gorgeous courthouse

Take a stroll around the courthouse located in the heart of downtown. Explore all the small businesses around. Visit the famous Whiskey Row, but no worries if you don’t drink alcohol or are not a fan of the bar life—there is a little something for you, too! There are small souvenir shops and several options for places to eat, so you will find something to explore.

The Territorial Cafe located inside the lobby of the Hassyampa Inn

The infamous Hassayampa Inn, built in 1927, has a history of being haunted. So, if you’re into that spooky kind of thing, book a room there and see if you experience anything paranormal!

Need to know

I would definitely recommend walking shoes and water. Restrooms are scarce unless you are eating and/or buying something from the shop you’re in, otherwise you will need to use the courthouse outside bathrooms, which may not always be unlocked.

I would wear sunblock and/or a hat, but there are many shaded areas around. If you go hiking anywhere around definitely bring water to keep hydrated.
