Family Fun on the Central Coast of California

Located between Los Angeles and San Fransisco, only 20 minutes from the Pacific Ocean and the scenic Highway 1, Paso Robles is a great place to get away for a few days or to add to any California road trip. Paso boasts celebrated wineries and restaurants, while still maintaining the friendly and inviting demeanor of a small agricultural town. Spend a day wine tasting but throw in an olive oil tasting for the underaged. Trade your kids a day at our locally owned and operated water park, then head out to a Michelin-rated restaurant for dinner. Older kids will love a day zip-lining at Santa Margarita Ranch, while younger children can explore the outdoor play zone at Jack Creek Farms. And everyone loves a visit to Hearst Castle and the elephant seals!

Paso Robles produces world-class wines and offers exceptional experiences while maintaining a warm and welcoming community atmosphere. You cannot leave a winery without recommendations for five more, and every dining experience includes tips on where to eat lunch the next day! This small town of under 30,000 boasts multiple Michelin-starred restaurants, alongside wineries that are consistently on Wine Spectator's Top 100 list and wines that have received 100-point scores from Robert Parker. Come for the wine and food, but be ready to fall in love with the people.

When you think of California wine, Napa, Sonoma and Santa Barbara jump to mind and while Paso Robles is not undiscovered, you could argue that it is unappreciated and overshadowed by California’s more famous wine regions. Located just inland from California’s gorgeous central coastline, Paso Robles has the hot days, cool nights and expressive terroir of other celebrated wine regions around the world. You’ll fall in love with the way the art and science of winemaking combine with a rugged frontier spirit and a laid-back California atmosphere to create what I think is the best wine region in California.

We've got a confession: we are utterly, hopelessly addicted to travel. It all started when our founder packed her bags and set off to explore the world, ending up living and working across six continents (have no worries, we’ve traveled to the 7th, too). From the otherworldly landscapes of Patagonia to the pulsing streets of Buenos Aires, we've collected stories, friends and an insatiable appetite for new experiences in 85 countries (and counting!).
