Kaua'i

My family of four spent an idyllic week on Kauai in May of 2023. When planning this trip, I asked fellow travelers, “Which Hawaiian Islands should we visit?”. Each time the answer was, “Kauai”. So, Kauai it was! Known as the "Garden Isle," it has a diverse microclimate. The North Shore is lusher and more tropical, with more rain showers and rainbows. It has the beautiful Na Pali coast. The South Shore has amazing beaches, is drier and closer to the airport. It is also an easy drive to Waimea Canyon, “the Grand Canyon” of Kauai.

During the Spring of 2025, I had the pleasure of visiting this amazing resort first hand and staying for a few days. It’s truly such a magical destination and the resort is super intimate and a great four-star hotel experience. I would highly recommend the hotel not only for its oceanfront location, but the service was great, the food beyond amazing and the overall experience was wonderful! It also has a super small intimate feel vs. a bigger hotel so you really get to know the staff and other guests (if you choose to). For travelers who like a small boutique hotel vibe the Ko’a Kea is perfect for you!

Kauai is where my husband and I had our honeymoon. Kauai is a special piece of Hawaii, home to the only public marinas in the entire state and some of the best island grub I've had. I've never just "let things happen" but let me share with you why taking the relaxed approach is the best way to take on Kauai with your significant other.

Kaua'i is a stunning island in Hawai'i and so diverse with a vast number of beaches, mountains and even a canyon! It is a very relaxed island and you are sure to feel right at home. The people are so friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing and the hiking is out of this world. The "Garden Island" is a wonderful place to visit if you are looking for a great mixture of relaxation and adventure!

Kauai is easiest to navigate when broken down by its four major areas: North Shore, South Shore, Eastside and Westside. All having their own distinct features, these four areas are easily explored as you can drive from one end to the other in less than two hours.
