Growing up in the suburbs of Boston, going down the Cape or to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard was like our version of the Hamptons. While parts of it have changed over the years, its charm has remained, with many sites and restaurants still mainstays. It’s one of my favorite places to go, and I still have family that live across the Cape (from Plymouth to Dennis and Provincetown). It’s the perfect weekend getaway on its own, or as an add-on to a trip to Boston or New York.

Its beauty can be found not only in the beautiful seaside surroundings and small New England village streets, architecture and history, but also because of the thriving art community that is at the heart of its roots. It's also a walk-anywhere kind of town, making logistics during your stay a breeze. Depending on the season, it can be tranquil and serene, or festive and lively. There are many things to do: restaurants, beaches, galleries, historical places, art shows, live music, whale watching, shopping at local shops/boutiques, and lively nightlife options. The LGBTQ+ community is close-knit and welcomes travelers from all walks of life.

As a lifelong Bostonian, the Cape has held a special place in my heart since I was a child. The only issue was the beach. I never really enjoyed it.
