Site Inspection: Four Seasons Dalton Street Boston

The Four Seasons is located on Dalton Street, tucked into Boston's Back Bay, a short stroll to the Prudential, Newbury Street or even Fenway. It is the second Four Season's property in Boston, with the first a newly refurbished property across from the Public Garden. It is the perfect spot for business travel, a couples or family trip and wins my applause for likely the most accessible luxury hotel in Boston (another perk for all the Boston-based medical travel). Plus, it's the only spa and pool combo in the entire city.

Boston is a delightful, small city – the seat of American history, although at times, it feels almost European. Eminently walkable and kid-friendly, Boston can be lovely in every season, although Spring and Autumn are my favorites. Boston is chock-full of kid-friendly activities, making it a perfect long weekend getaway for families with school age children.

During a recent visit to Boston, I couldn't help but notice groups and individual runners braving the cold temperatures, navigating the bustling streets of the capital city, undoubtedly preparing for the upcoming Boston Marathon. As a runner who has had many friends compete in the Boston Marathon, I wanted to share some insider tips and recommendations on some of the best places to stay, where to dine, and what activities to do during your visit. If you're eyeing qualification for next year's race or have already clinched your spot, be sure to promptly secure your hotel reservations—availability disappears almost as fast as it takes a marathon finisher to sign up for their next race.
