I'll be the first to admit that this 10-day road trip through the south of Spain will not even begin to scratch the surface of all that Andalusia has to offer. The Muslim, Christian and Jewish influence in the region has created an architecturally and historically diverse region that is home to so much more than just amazing wine and food. If you have the time, add a few days in each city or take time to stop at more off-the-beaten-path destinations. So, vamos! We're going on a road trip.

A recent visit to Seville, Spain inspired me to create a guide. With countless things to do and places to explore, including museums, historical attractions and world-renowned restaurants - I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful city in Andalucia.

Located in the south of Spain, Andalucia is a destination where visitors will be captured by its rich Moorish history, authentic culture and the passion of its people. The best time to visit this region is during the spring or the fall, as it can get quite warm during the summer months.

My first impression of Seville was that it was a city that lives and breathes joy. The city exudes a vibrant energy that is so contagious I didn’t want to leave. The warm weather and sunny skies bring everyone outdoors, filling the cafés and plazas with locals and tourists alike, soaking up the sun and the culture. The stunning architecture tells the stories of centuries past—from the intricate façade of the Seville Cathedral to the mix of cultural influences of the Royal Alcázar. Wandering through Barrio Santa Cruz felt as though I had stepped into a postcard, with its narrow alleys and cozy hidden spots. Seville quickly stole my heart and became my favorite city in Spain!

The Iberian Peninsula has its own charm like no other – having given the world both colorful hand-painted tiles and sumptuous jamon. This guide is for an express tour of both countries, visiting three primary cities – Seville, Madrid and Lisbon. All three are easy walking centers with cobblestone alleys and agreeable weather year-round. They are also home to stylish hotels, restaurants and nightlife at affordable pricing which makes them the true gems of Europe. It may not be the Camino de Santiago, but it’s a sure walking guide to Iberia’s best! Just remember that the nights start late in Iberia.

Visiting Seville during the Feria de Abril (”April Fair”) is an experience like no other. From the beautiful flamenco dresses and the traditional suits worn by the locals to the spectacular firework display over the Guadalquivir River, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
