Provence with Kids

Curated by
Claudia Riegelhaupt
When you’re traveling to the south of France with young kids, it’s important to find a casual destination and avoid some of the higher-end locales that don’t feel so kid-friendly. I recommend staying outside of mainstream towns and choosing more off-the-beaten-path destinations; they are more relaxed and in turn, authentically Provençal. Var, just east of Aix-en-Provence, is one of my favorite regions. Some towns to consider are Cotignac, Entrecasteaux, Correns, and Sillans-la-Cascade. If you want to learn more about each region, reach out to me and let’s chat to find what's best suited for you and your family’s travel style.

The French Riviera is a dream vacation with a mix of beach, city and small villages. Every day is a new adventure and another stunning village to explore. The Mediterranean is right out your window and its beauty is surreal. One day it's chic beach clubs and shopping and the next it's markets and casual cafes. Art, architecture, adventure, culture, luxury hotels and fine dining are spread across 550 miles of this French paradise.

Biarritz, France: One of the Most Overlooked Destinations in the South of France

Curated by
Sasha Pazanowski
Nestled on the Atlantic coast along the border of Spain, Biarritz offers a unique blend of cultures and landscapes. This region is a haven for surfers with its pristine beaches and world-class waves, while golf enthusiasts can enjoy picturesque courses set against stunning backdrops and foodies will relish the local flavors, particularly the famous Espelette pepper from the French Basque town of the same name. This town and the surrounding area have drawn me back every year for the past 10 years. This itinerary can be done in five days or a more leisurely seven to 10 to give yourself time to truly relax and take in the beauty around you. You are on vacation, after all.

White-washed hotels, perfectly uniform umbrellas dotting the beaches, bougainvillea lining the cobblestoned streets and manicured vineyards in the distance, there’s something magical about a summer in the South of France, especially for a relaxing honeymoon. You can visit the French Riviera during the height of the summer, but we recommend late spring or early fall for the perfect temperatures and less crowds. From staying in the excitement of Cannes to a hidden château in Provence, there’s a perfect hotel for everyone, and every couple. The South of France is the perfect homebase for a honeymoon filled with sun, music, shopping, dining and adventure (if you want it). Here is our guide to have the perfect South of France honeymoon, including where to stay, eat and visit.

Multigenerational Trip Through France

Karen Morales
Is it possible to design a first-time trip through France for two teens, grandma and a wheelchair? Of course it is! The trick of the trade when developing European itineraries is to fully understand pacing, interests and how often the family wants to pack and unpack. For this custom trip, we had multiple interests: a foodie, a WW2 history buff, a budding artist and surfer and a repeat traveler, who wanted to ensure hotels were five-star and experiences were a blend of luxurious and local, with great coffee, luxurious bedding and wheelchair accessibility.
