San Jose del Cabo is the much less touristy little sister to Cabo San Lucas. After my first visit to San Jose del Cabo, it quickly became my preferred town out of the two. The quaint town, with its cobblestone streets painted with overhanging papel picado, really gives off a more authentic local vibe. If you're looking for a much more laid-back experience but still want to enjoy the sunshine in Los Cabos, opt for San Jose del Cabo instead.

In January of 2024, I stayed at the beautiful Marquis Los Cabo in San Jose del Cabo. This amazing all-inclusive, adults only, no timeshare resort was the perfect mother daughter getaway! I was continually impressed by the hotel atmosphere, staff, and food and can't wait to stay here again!

In June of 2023, I travelled to San Jose Del Cabo on a solo trip and chose to stay at the beautiful One&Only Palmilla. With no shortage of high end luxury resorts in the region, it was hard to choose where to stay. This property did not disappoint. In fact, the personalized service, attention to detail and serene luxury of this property set quite a high standard for luxury resort expectations that I will always compare other properties to. It feels like a home away from home that I look forward to returning to again.

I had an incredible stay at Hotel San Cristóbal and Hotel El Ganzo in January 2022, enjoying the beachfront locations, beautiful pools, excellent food and service and lovely design elements. The beachfront setting and gorgeous pools were highlights of the vacation.

In 2024, Halloween fell on a Thursday, coinciding with the weekly Art Walk. The result? A buzzing, colorful town filled with creativity and celebration. Locals and visitors embraced the festive spirit with elaborate costumes, lively music and art displays, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
But the magic didn’t end with Halloween. Día de los Muertos followed, honoring loved ones with beautiful altars, marigold-strewn streets and heartfelt celebrations. If you ever have the chance to visit during this time, it’s truly something special.

Not only is this property architecturally stunning, but the staff are some of the most kind and welcoming of anywhere I've traveled.
