I’m lucky enough to have a best friend who lives in the Riviera Maya, which means I’ve spent a good amount of time in the region. The best part? It’s easy to get here. With direct flights to Cancun from just about every major US city, getting to this slice of paradise is almost too easy. I visited this property in January 2024. We were a group of six during our stay and everyone was sad when it was time to go home. I love the concept of a boutique hotel within a larger resort that allows you the freedom and options of a bigger property with the extra personal touches and quality offerings of a luxury stay. Note that this resort is adults-only.

I visited the stunning Mayan Riviera a couple of years ago and stayed at the Hotel RIU Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen, known for its European architectural design and affordable all-inclusive options. This luxurious resort, geared towards those who love fun and entertainment, features beautifully landscaped gardens, exquisite dining and impeccable service. My days were spent lounging on Playa del Carmen's white-sand beach, swimming in turquoise waters and exploring ancient ruins, while evenings were filled with vibrant nightlife and relaxation in my spacious room. The Riu Palace Riviera Maya made my trip an unforgettable experience.

In September of 2024, I was able to stay at the all-inclusive Hotel Riu Tequila in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. With exceptional service, a swim-up bar and proximity to a beachfront, there was little else to ask for. I would highly recommend this property and will look for other Riu properties when considering tropical travel!
