New England's fall foliage catches the attention of thousands from around the world every year. Warm summer nights slowly turn into brisk fall mornings. The once-green umbrella of branches evolves as they change color and prepare to sleep for the winter. But before they do, the bold colors of red, yellow, orange, and amber blanket the mountains and roadways, making it one of the most sought-after fall destinations. As a fellow New Englander, I'm here to share what's worth visiting, from a local perspective.

The White Mountains are crisscrossed by an extensive network of trails, each one more inviting than the last. The Appalachian Trail weaves through the region, offering hikers the chance to traverse lush woodlands, cross sparkling streams and marvel at cascading waterfalls like the famed Flume Gorge and Arethusa Falls. Winter brings heaps of snow, making this a go-to for the skiers/snowboarders.

Pittsburg, New Hampshire, holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I spent countless days exploring the woods, lakes and backroads, deeply connecting with the rhythms of nature. I basically grew up there, and the North Country’s wild, peaceful beauty helped shape who I am today. Whether it’s the stillness of the lakes at sunrise or the thrill of spotting a moose on a quiet trail, every moment in Pittsburg feels grounding and magical.
