Mackinac Island is a place like no other — a car-free paradise where history, nature and charm blend seamlessly. Having visited the island as a child and then again some 20 years later, I was amazed at how little had changed. The quaint streets, the scent of fudge in the air and the peaceful clip-clop of horse-drawn carriages were exactly as I remembered. Mackinac Island feels like stepping into a storybook, where time slows down, and every visit is filled with nostalgia and discovery.
