I must have lived in New Orleans in a past life because I genuinely feel like I belong here. New Orleans, Louisiana is a vibrant and lively city with something to offer for just about everyone. It is also the perfect destination for a girls trip, and can easily accommodate a bachelorette. So enjoy the delicious bites, the loud bars, the incredible street life and all the dancing that New Orleans has to offer.

There's no other place like New Orleans within the U.S. The city feels like a getaway, but is a domestic and welcome escape. There’s such an amazing personality to NOLA — the colorfulness, the energy and the vibe make it such a special destination.

New Orleans is the birth place of Jazz, the Sazerac cocktail, gumbo and my Creole heritage. Although I have many relatives throughout the city and have been visiting NOLA for decades, I'm not the only one who instantly feels the warmth and welcome of New Orleanians as soon as I disembark from the plane and enter the new and modern Louis Armstrong International Airport. The Big Easy, The Crescent City, N'awlins and the Paris of the South are only a few of the city's nicknames, but It's hard to encapsulate this festive, moody and mysterious city in monikers alone. New Orleans is a multicultural mecca of festivals, internationally acclaimed and award-winning chefs & restaurants, art museums, city parks, music venues, sporting events, shopping, architecture and, allow me to reiterate, some of the world's friendliest people!

When you think of New Orleans, you often think of the French Quarter or partying the night away on Bourbon Street. But there is so much more to New Orleans that you may not have explored yet. In this guide, I will share a little about the other side of New Orleans - speakeasies, boutique hotels, gourmet restaurants, museums and shops - sort of a guide for grown-ups, if you will.
