The Solo Traveler's Guide to Italy: Sorrento, Rome & Venice

Curated by
A'Rielle Thomas
When traveling solo, my favorite way to immerse myself in a new destination is by foot, and of course, the Italians have a sexy word for it: Passaggiata. This word is used to describe a leisurely walk or stroll, typically taken in the evenings in Italian cities. Italy is the perfect destination for solo travelers who want to take advantage of exploring on their own time and can’t just pick one place to visit! Boasting comfy high-speed trains and over 10,000 miles of rail track, you can seamlessly experience the sea, the city and the mountains in one go through Italy. For solo travelers, the walkable cities of Sorrento, Rome and Venice offer delicious Italian cuisine, awe-inspiring historical sites and fabulous wine!

Amalfi is one of those places on everyone's bucket lists, and then once you go- you're hooked forever. And of course, here we have some of the top hotels in Italy, let alone Europe. From small boutique hotels to true grand dames, here are my top picks.

Exploring Italy's Amazing Amalfi Coast

Curated by
Angela Marini
The Amalfi Coast is made up of many small towns along the coast. Although not technically part of the Amalfi Coast, I like to include Sorrento as part of that because it is just too nice to not be included. As you drive the coastline with its cliffs and rocks, you stumble upon views you only see in movies. You can travel this coast on a budget or go all out and 5-star all the way. Whichever way you decide, one thing you must splurge on is a boat excursion to see Capri and the coast from the water. Diving into the waters off the coast of Capri will just change your day and be the highlight of your trip. Local restaurants and agriturismos (farms) will cook you the most amazing food you have ever eaten. You don't have to spend a fortune on food for it to be mind-blowing. I can design a trip on any budget as I have traveled this coast and made many contacts and friends along the way.

Spend 6 Days in Paradise on Italy's Amalfi Coast

Curated by
Angela Marini
There is no place in the world more special than the Amalfi coast in Italy. There I said it. I just keep going back. All of Italy is special for that matter, but the Amalfi coast just speaks to me. The culture, the food, the people and the beauty - oh the beauty - are everything you would expect. I don't like an Italy trip full of tours, I prefer building an itinerary that is full of culture, unique experiences and incredible dining options. This can be created for an endless budget or a specific budget. There is a way to make Italy special for everyone.

Tips for a Trip to the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast embodies the essence of Italy’s beauty, blending dramatic landscapes with rich cultural heritage. What makes the Amalfi Coast truly special is its unique combination of towering cliffs, vibrant coastal villages and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Each town, from the glamorous Positano to the historic Amalfi, offers something distinct, with winding streets, pastel-colored buildings and incredible views around every corner. The area’s natural beauty is matched by its cultural richness: historic churches, charming piazzas and centuries-old vineyards provide a sense of timelessness. The region’s cuisine, heavily influenced by fresh, local ingredients like lemons, seafood and olive oil, adds to its irresistible allure. Combined with the warmth of the local people, it’s easy to see why the Amalfi Coast is so beloved by travelers seeking the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure and Italian charm.

The Amalfi Coast is the definition of romance — cliffside villages cascading toward the sea, lemon-scented breezes drifting through the air and some of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve ever seen. From sipping wine on a private terrace in Positano to exploring hidden beaches accessible only by boat, every moment here feels like a dream. Whether you’re celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary or simply indulging in a luxurious escape with your partner, the Amalfi Coast is a place that invites you to slow down, soak in the beauty and fall in love all over again.

Four Days Exploring the Amalfi Coast

Curated by
Elise Maguire Ferrara
The Amalfi Coast is undoubtedly one of the most booked areas of Italy due to its incredible hotels, restaurants, shopping and overall chic European vibes. While there are incredible towns to visit, making Sorrento your homebase will allow you to get the most out of your four days. Day trips to Capri, Positano, Ravello, Amalfi and other popular towns along the coast are easy to reach by way of Sorrento, and you won’t be short on things to do in this beautiful seaside town either.
