My relatives were Irish immigrants who survived the 1900 Storm and wading through the waters with all 10 kids to higher grounds. You can walk around the island and see signs on homes that also have plaques to show they are "Survivors of the 1900 Storm." A vibrant destination filled with local flavor and culture, there is something to please everyone. Even in the mild Winter months, Galveston offers plenty to do and see. My family visits often as it is the perfect place to relax and have fun.

The highly anticipated Carnival Jubilee started its inaugural season in December 2023 in Galveston, TX and is the third Excel class ship for Carnival. Our sailing took place in February 2024. This trip was especially sweet, as my 33rd birthday passed this week and I was taking a trip with friends and family, some of whom were first-time cruisers.
