Holiday Trip to Mendoza & Buenos Aires, Argentina

Curated by
Laura Allen
Buenos Aires is a historic and elegant city and many are surprised to find it has a European feel with its 19th-century buildings and charming neighborhoods. Each of the neighborhoods or ‘barrios’ have different characters so it’s one of those cities where you’ll want to spend a lot of time simply meandering along the tree-lined streets to get a feel for each area. In contrast, Mendoza is a small city with many art deco buildings and small plazas at the foothills of the Andes mountains (in the heart of wine country!). A short, easy flight connects the two cities and makes for a perfect Christmas + New Year’s trip (plus, it’s warm!!)

Mendoza, Argentina, is a stunning blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and world-renowned wine. Nestled at the foothills of the Andes Mountains, the region offers breathtaking landscapes, with snow-capped peaks, expansive vineyards, and vast deserts. Mendoza was one of the destinations on our honeymoon and since then, we haven’t been able to stay away. Each time we leave, it feels like it takes a little more of my heart with it. This enchanting region offers the perfect blend of world-class winery tours, thrilling outdoor adventures, and exceptional cuisine, making every visit feel like a new discovery. It’s a place that continues to captivate us, drawing us back again and again.

Beyond the Steak and Wine: A Culinary Journey in Mendoza

Megan Doyle
My recent trip to Mendoza in April of 2024 revealed a vibrant culinary scene that extended far beyond the city's renowned meat and wine. As a health-conscious traveler, I was delighted to discover a wealth of restaurants offering fresh vegetable dishes, locally caught trout and other balanced options. Mendoza is also an ideal destination for solo female travelers. The city's walkability, charming cafes, abundant restaurants and beautiful parks create a safe and welcoming atmosphere. A week was simply not enough time - I can't wait to return and explore more!
