If you’re anything like us, your Sunday nights just haven’t been the same since the tragic heroes and lovable villains of the White Lotus ended their tenure on the small screen. But the big news for fans & travelers — and really, the whole internet — is that White Lotus is officially back. After two seasons (set in Hawaiʻi and Sicily, respectively), season three will be filmed in Thailand.

And starting now — continuing well beyond the show’s airing in 2025 — we know that Mike White’s filming location of Thailand will soar in popularity for travelers who want to visit. (In 2023, we saw Sicily bookings skyrocket due to the exposure of the HBO show.) And Thailand has all the trappings of a bucket-list destination: the country offers a mesmerizing tapestry of experiences, from the electricity of Bangkok to the paradisiacal shores of Koh Samui. Add a little bit of White Lotus magic to the mix, and Thailand is gearing up for its leading role on the tourism stage (or screen, in this case).

And since we’re (1) hotel-obsessed and (2) can’t wait until 2025, we’re eyeing a trip to Thailand, specifically the hotel filming locations of the White Lotus. According to Bloomberg, HBO confirmed that the show will film in Bangkok, Phuket and Koh Samui. Sources report that two hotels are confirmed as filming locations for season three — and good news: they’re Fora favorites (and you can score perks at them by booking with us). Read on to learn about the two hotels that will serve as filming locations for the show, and the perks you can score when booking as the early bird with Fora.

In Koh Samui: Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui

Season three continues the legacy of the White Lotus filming at Four Seasons resorts; season one was filmed at the sleek Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, while the second season was filmed at the San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel. In Koh Samui, a beachside retreat known for its natural beauty and cultural riches, the White Lotus will film at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui.

Perched on a hillside overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, this luxe Four Seasons hotel boasts stunning panoramic views of the turquoise waters and lush greenery. Guests stay in meticulously designed villas that blend traditional Thai architecture with modern elegance, featuring infinity pools seamlessly merging with the ocean horizon. Guests can savor exquisite dining experiences at the Pla Pla restaurant, specializing in fresh seafood, or enjoy authentic Thai cuisine at Lan Tania. And the spa, surrounded by tropical gardens, provides an authentic sanctuary for local treatments and world-class wellness programs.

With HBO & creator Mike White heading to this luxury hotel for the much-anticipated third season, we’re picturing all the shenanigans taking place (though, of course, we’ll miss Jennifer Coolidge).

In Phuket: Anantara Mai Khao Villas Phuket

According to Bloomberg, sources confirm that the next White Lotus season will also be using the Anantara Mai Khao Villas Phuket as a filming location. This will be the show’s first non-Four Seasons property featured.

Equally luxe though more under-the-radar than the Four Seasons hotel, this Phuket retreat is Tanya-approved, with infinity pools, gorgeously appointed pool villas and thoughtful Thai touches. The name of the game here is understated luxury. For instance, the two-bedroom royal villa by Jim Thompson is set amidst lush tropical gardens and boasts Bulgari bath amenities, open-air showers and plenty of jewel tones. Guests will enjoy the Anantara Mai Khao’s spa and wellness facilities, offering a chance to rejuvenate and relax with a variety of treatments.

Fora Perks at Anantara Mai Khao Villas Phuket:

    • $100 hotel / resort credit, breakfast daily, 60-minute Thai boxing lesson for up to two people, upgrade & early check-in whenever possible.
