One of the great metropolises in the Western Hemisphere, CDMX is a veritable cultural mecca. It’s the type of place travelers return to again and again — if not for its incredible shopping and green spaces, then for the tacos. Another plus: hotels in Mexico rank among the best in the world.

Centered in CDMX's most exciting neighborhoods, these hotels provide outstanding service, lush comfort and a stylish place to rest your head during your activity-filled vacation to the Mexican capital.

Below, I've rounded up some of the best hotels in Mexico City, from boutique inns to major players.

Four Seasons Mexico City

Built around a vibrant courtyard, the Four Seasons mirrors Mexico City’s gorgeous architecture with a hacienda-style façade and lavish interior. You can’t ask for a better location, as the hotel is within walking distance of Chapultepec Forest, the city's main park, as well as the posh neighborhoods of La Condesa, Roma Norte and, just a bit further out, Polanco. The Four Seasons is also a foodie destination, with its several celebrated restaurants like il Becco, a sophisticated Italian eatery, and Fifty Mils, a laid-back gastrobar with a creative cocktail menu.

Fora Perks:

  • When you book Four Seasons through me, you will enjoy exclusive Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits. I will be pleased to give you more details.

The St. Regis Mexico City

The St. Regis is one of CDMX’s best luxury hotels, complete with 24 / 7 butler service. Located along the Paseo de la Reforma, the city's grand, tree-lined avenue, the 31-story hotel towers over the nearby Chapultepec Park. The view alone, admired through each room's floor-to-ceiling windows, is worth the hotel’s luxury price tag. But the St. Regis also offers several sophisticated restaurants and bars, along with private dining options. Head to the exclusive La Table Krug for an eight-course, French-inspired tasting menu, or to Diana Restaurant, for locally-sourced, traditional Mexican fare. The hotel is also kid-friendly, with a delightful candy trolly, a children's club and plenty of other fun activities (including "glamping") to keep them entertained, allowing you to freely indulge at the St. Regis' exquisite Remède Spa.

Fora Perks:

  • $100 resort / hotel credit.

  • Breakfast daily.

  • Upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Sofitel Mexico City Reforma

The architecture of the Sofitel is nothing short of stunning, with green glass panes flanked by white stone panels, resulting in a high-contrast look that’s as eye-catching as it is unique. The hotel offers a gorgeous view of the surrounding city, while its artful interior is equally as alluring. Among a host of amenities, you’ll find three high-end restaurants and two cocktail bars. Cityzen Rooftop Kitchen, a chic restaurant offering some of the city's most splendid views, is especially worth a visit. Enjoy refined Mexican- and French-inspired cuisine, plus expertly crafted cocktails. And, for extra relaxation, visit the lavish Sofitel Spa, stocked with fine, gorgeously scented L'Occitane products.

The JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City Santa Fe, in the city's business district, is a bit further from the center of Mexico City, but it’s more affordable. Plus, it's close to the lovely La Mexicana Park, an urban oasis for bikers, walkers and dog-walkers. And it’s still one of the best hotels in CDMX, with comfy modern rooms, a spa, an outdoor pool and two high-class restaurants: the Quattro Gastronmia Italiana, for well-executed Italian and a wide wine selection, and Cua, for local cuisine served in a laid-back, trendy setting.

The pet-friendly Umbral is set within the renovated 19th-century Edificio España and centrally located in Mexico City’s historic downtown.
