The Bahamas: The Vibe, The People and The Resorts

We had the pleasure to stay at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort, and it did not disappoint. We had access to a private offshore island with stunning beachfront views and the gourmet food was exceptional. Once you stepped foot into this resort, it was like you stepped into a different destination all of it’s own, as if there was nothing else outside those walls, except you and the pristine turquoise waters.

The Bahamas, with its collection of stunning islands and cays, exudes a vibrant and laid-back Caribbean vibe that captivates visitors from around the world. From the bustling streets of Nassau to the serene shores of the Out Islands, the Bahamian vibe is a unique blend of rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds the archipelago.

One of the defining features of the Bahamian vibe is its infectious rhythm and music. The sounds of Junkanoo, a traditional Bahamian street parade with vibrant costumes and lively music, resonate throughout the islands during festive occasions, bringing a sense of joy and celebration. Calypso, reggae, and Bahamian rake 'n' scrape music further infuse the air with their infectious beats, inviting both locals and visitors to sway to the rhythm.

Gordon’s is a beautiful place to sit and have a romantic dinner on the pier. Try the Surf & Turf for the main meal and the Chocolate Mousse for dessert. It was divine!

For lunch we went to the Calico Cafe. We recommend the grilled chicken and pesto panini sandwich. It’s their signature dish - yum!
