Things to do in Bahamas

Blue shores in the Bahamas.

We had the pleasure to stay at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort, and it did not disappoint. We had access to a private offshore island with stunning beachfront views and the gourmet food was exceptional. Once you stepped foot into this resort, it was like you stepped into a different destination all of it’s own, as if there was nothing else outside those walls, except you and the pristine turquoise waters.

The Bahamas, with its collection of stunning islands and cays, exudes a vibrant and laid-back Caribbean vibe that captivates visitors from around the world. From the bustling streets of Nassau to the serene shores of the Out Islands, the Bahamian vibe is a unique blend of rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds the archipelago.

One of the defining features of the Bahamian vibe is its infectious rhythm and music. The sounds of Junkanoo, a traditional Bahamian street parade with vibrant costumes and lively music, resonate throughout the islands during festive occasions, bringing a sense of joy and celebration. Calypso, reggae, and Bahamian rake 'n' scrape music further infuse the air with their infectious beats, inviting both locals and visitors to sway to the rhythm.

The Bahamian people are known for their warm and friendly nature, creating an inviting and welcoming atmosphere for travelers. From the engaging conversations with locals to the genuine smiles exchanged on the streets, the sense of community and camaraderie is palpable. Whether you're exploring the vibrant markets, dining at local eateries, or simply lounging on the beach, the Bahamian people are always ready to make you feel like a part of their extended family.

The laid-back island lifestyle is another integral part of the Bahamian vibe. Time seems to slow down as you immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings, allowing you to fully unwind and embrace the natural beauty of the islands. Whether you're lounging on powdery white sand beaches, snorkeling among vibrant coral reefs, or simply enjoying a breathtaking sunset over the turquoise waters, the islands inspire a sense of serenity and relaxation.

The Bahamian vibe is also deeply connected to the natural wonders that abound in the archipelago. With crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life, lush green landscapes, and intriguing geological formations, the islands offer endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. From swimming with pigs in the Exumas to diving in the Andros Barrier Reef, the natural wonders of the Bahamas provide a playground for water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

While there is a vibrant energy to be found in the lively streets of Nassau and Paradise Island, the Out Islands offer a more serene and secluded vibe. Here, time seems to stand still, allowing you to disconnect from the world and connect with nature. The pace of life slows down, and you can truly embrace the tranquility and untouched beauty of these hidden gems.

Places to eat & drink in Bahamas

Gordon’s is a beautiful place to sit and have a romantic dinner on the pier. Try the Surf & Turf for the main meal and the Chocolate Mousse for dessert. It was divine!

For lunch we went to the Calico Cafe. We recommend the grilled chicken and pesto panini sandwich. It’s their signature dish - yum!
