Things to do in Montauk, NY

Lighthouse in Montauk, NY.

Montauk Light House

This is an absolute must! Venture out to the eastern most point of the island and visit this still active lighthouse built in 1797. Climb all the way to the tippy top for a stunning view. We also recommend waking up before dawn and making your way along the surrounding rocks to the be first ones on the island to see the sunrise!

Hither Hills State Park

This scenic park offers fishing spots, picnic areas, fireplaces and playing fields. But perhaps what it's most known for is its beachside camping spots. Be sure to call ahead and reserve!

Beaches

Montauk is lined with miles of coastline and numerous public beaches to enjoy. I suggest going during the weekday to avoid the crowds.

Second House Museum

Step back in time and pay a visit to this restored historic home dating back to the revolutionary war.

Gurney's Resort and Spa

If you're craving a little luxury, book yourself a night or two at the only hotel in the Hamptons located right on the beach! This resort boasts stunning suites, as well as their own Seawater Spa experience.
