Things to do in Portland, Oregon

Portland street

Powell's Books

Did you know that Portland is home to the world's biggest independent bookstore? Powell's Books has everything that a reader is looking for with multiple floors, endless genres and great discounts.

Portland Saturday Market

Every Saturday from March to December, downtown Portland hosts an arts and crafts market that lasts from 10am to 5pm. I came home with cute rings and bracelets, all for reasonable prices!

Everyday Music

If you're a vinyl collector and avid music listener, be sure to stop by Everyday Music. The business has been collecting music for over 35 years but if by chance they don't have a specific record or CD, they can put in an order for you!

Shanghai Underground Tunnels

Lying beneath Old Chinatown are tunnels for exploring. These tunnels have myths and ghost stories that you can read and hear all about. NOTE: Not for those with claustrophobia!

Portland Aerial Tram

The Tram is popular for those who are eager to try something new. Tourists can get a different, overlooking view of the city and surrounding nature. On clear days you can spot Mt Hood and Mt Saint Helens!

Multnomah Falls

Just 30 miles outside Portland, hikers and bikers can experience the beauty of Multnomah Falls. Trails range from 1/4 mile to 5 miles long and all have views of the waterfalls. I'd definitely recommend for all nature-lovers like myself!

Places to eat & drink in Portland, Oregon

Yummy food in Belize

Voodoo Doughnut: Countless options of doughnuts to choose from, including vegan! Pricing is reasonable, just get there early to beat the line.

Luc Lac: Vietnamese food with gluten-free and vegan options. I had Pho and it was delicious! Really unique interior, also provides nice outdoor seating.

Portland Burger: Delicious options to choose from, including vegetarian. The tater tots and milkshakes were great sides!

Gluten Free Gem: Bakery and coffee shop filled with gluten-free and vegan options. My friend brought a few things back to Idaho with us just because they were all so yummy and priced well!

Grassa: Cheap and easy Italian food. Gluten-free options available as well!

Our goal for this trip was to spend no more than $20 per meal. These spots made it easy to do that, and the food was high-quality!
