Day 1: On Your First of 7 Days in Belize, Relax

You'll most likely fly into Belize City, so it'll take a few transfers to get to your final destination, whether that's the beach or the jungle. Because it might take you a bit to get to your hotel, check in and just relax. Explore your nearby surroundings, take a dip in the Caribbean and have a few tropical drinks.

Day 2: Visit a Mayan Ruin Site

ancient stone temple

Belize is home to hundreds and hundreds of Mayan ruin sites, many of which haven't even been uncovered yet. Some of the most popular sites include Xunantunich, Caracol, Lamanai and Altun Hun, worthy excursions during your seven days in Belize. We highly recommend having a guide, as this will allow you to truly understand the site and the Mayans that lived there. Don't forget to pack a hat, water and lots of sunscreen.

Day 3: Go Zip-Lining, a Must During Your 7 Days in Belize

Who doesn't want to zip-line through the jungle? Belize is known for having wonderful jungles to zip over and through if you're an adventure junkie. Arrange for a transfer into the jungle and strap in to soar hundreds of feet over the Belizean rainforests. Keep your eye out for wildlife!

Day 4: Continue Your 7 Days in Belize at Actun Tunichil Muknal

Tighten your hiking boots and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. Today, we head to Actun Tunichil Muknal cave. This cave is known to be a sacred site for the Mayans. It was discovered somewhere between 300 and 600 AD, but didn't become an important spiritual site until somewhere between 700 and 900 AD.

Upon discovery of the cave in the late 1980s, several bodies believed to be human sacrifices were found, including the "Crystal Maiden," a well-preserved body resting in the cave.

To get to the cave, you'll have to hike about 30 minutes through thick vegetation and cross rivers that can get up to chest height. The cave itself goes down four miles, but due to safety, visitors are only allowed about two-thirds of the way down. There is a limit of six visitors per tour guide and 125 visitors per day. Only 13 guides in the entire country are certified to guide you to these caves, so make sure you book your visit early.

Days 5-7: Cap Off Your 7 Days in Belize at the Beach

Belize is bordered by the beautiful Caribbean sea, and as such, is home to beautiful resorts to pass the days. Whether you want to just relax and sip out of a coconut, or snorkel and dive the Belize Barrier Reef, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
