Street leading to house surrounded by trees in Ixtapa, Mexico
Fora’s Take

Less popular than Tulum, Cabo and Cancun, Ixtapa, Mexico is a resort city that is a very underrated getaway. While located in the Mexican state of Guerrero, which has a reputation for having more crime and violence than other states, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is an area frequented by tourists, and therefore, it's relatively safe. With many resorts and outstanding beaches, it is worth adding to your Mexico bucket list.
