Things to do in Alberta, Canada

snowy ski slopes with mountain range

Ski and Snowboard Mountains:

Mt. Norquay: Quaint ski destination where many of the Canadian nationals train for the Olympics.

Banff Sunshine: Larger ski destination with a variety of terrain for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

Lake Louise: Beautiful views of the lake and famous Chateau hotel. Longer and more challenging runs.

Beautiful Sights:

Lake Louise: In the winter, the lake is frozen over, allowing opportunities to walk on the ice or rent hockey/skating equipment from the Chateau hotel to enjoy.

Vermilion Lakes: If the weather holds up, take a drive or walk through Vermilion Lakes, and you might just see some wildlife!

Banff Gondola: Take the gondola up to the mountaintop to see the views of Banff and even have a beautiful meal.

Relaxation:

Banff Hot Springs: Accessible by car or city bus. A very relaxing spot nestled in the mountains.

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise spa treatment: Many options of services at the spa, and you don't have to be a hotel guest.

Day Trips:

If you are staying in downtown Banff, take the day trip to Lake Louise! There is a city bus from downtown Banff directly to the Lake Louise Chateau. You can download the bus app and buy tickets directly from your phone - around $8CAN each direction.

Places to eat & drink in Alberta, Canada

Bowl of fries with toppings on wooden table

Hello Sunshine: Unique twist on sushi + private karaoke rooms for a fun experience.

Masala Indian: Cheap, delicious Indian food that also delivers to hotels.

Lupo Italian: Trendy Italian food with really good cocktails and pasta.

Balkan Greek: Authentic, fresh Greek food with very sweet waitstaff.

UNA Pizza: Small restaurant with big flavors, I recommend the truffle pizza!

Magpie & Stump: Casual Mexican cuisine. Would recommend for lunch or a larger group at dinner.

Park Distillery: Fun spot on the main drag for drinks and snacks.

COWS Banff & BeaverTails: Two spots for dessert that you must hit! COWS has the best ice cream and BeaverTails has unique pastries, similar to a funnel cake.
