Fitting sunset for the start of an incredible journey!

Embarkation: Galveston, Texas

Embarkation was seamless thanks to the Yacht Club’s priority check-in and dedicated lounge. From arrival at the terminal to stepping onboard, the process felt efficient and elevated. Once onboard, we were escorted directly to the Yacht Club area and introduced to our butler, Imen, and concierge team, who remained attentive throughout the voyage.

Yacht Club experience

The Yacht Club truly sets itself apart. Highlights include:

  • Private restaurant and lounge: Consistently excellent food and personalized service with no wait times.

  • Top Sail Lounge: A relaxing space for drinks, light bites, and panoramic ocean views.

  • Private pool deck: Never crowded, with attentive drink service and premium seating.

  • Butler service: Responsive and helpful, handling reservations, room service, and daily needs effortlessly. Imen is fantastic!

  • All-inclusive perks: Premium drinks, Wi-Fi, gratuities, and priority access throughout the ship.

The suite was well appointed, clean, and comfortable, with a stocked minibar and daily housekeeping—thank you, Joyce!

Port Day 1: Costa Maya (Red Shirt Golf Cart excursion)

Costa Maya was a standout thanks to the Red Shirt Golf Cart rental. This excursion allowed for complete flexibility and exploration beyond the typical tourist zones.

  • Drove along the coast at our own pace

  • Visited quieter beach areas away from crowds

  • Stopped at local beach bars and restaurants

  • Easy navigation and a fun, casual way to explore

This was one of the most enjoyable and unique experiences of the trip—highly recommended for anyone wanting independence in port.

Port Day 2: Roatán, Honduras

Roatán offered beautiful scenery and a laid-back island vibe.

  • Clear blue waters and lush greenery

  • Popular for snorkeling and beach excursions

  • Friendly locals (ask for George) and authentic island culture

Whether relaxing on the beach or exploring marine life, Roatán delivered a classic Caribbean experience.

Port Day 3: Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel provided a mix of relaxation and activity.

  • Great beach clubs and waterfront dining

  • Opportunities for shopping and tequila tastings

  • Excellent snorkeling and diving options

A well-developed port with something for everyone, from low-key beach days to more active excursions.

Sea days

Sea days were spent enjoying the Yacht Club amenities:

  • Relaxing by the private pool

  • Dining without crowds or wait times

  • Evening entertainment and shows (with priority seating)

  • Spa and fitness center access

The balance of activity and relaxation made sea days just as enjoyable as port days.

Dining & drinks

Dining in the Yacht Club restaurant was consistently high quality, with diverse menus and excellent service. Specialty dining onboard was also available but often unnecessary given the quality of YC dining.

The included premium drink package covered a wide range of cocktails, wines, and spirits, all easily accessible throughout the ship.

Service

Service was exceptional across all areas, especially within the Yacht Club. Staff were attentive, friendly, and proactive, creating a personalized and stress-free experience.

Final thoughts

This MSC Yacht Club cruise out of Galveston exceeded expectations. This was my third time in the Yacht Club and each cruise feels more magical than the last! The combination of luxury accommodations, personalized service, and well-balanced itinerary made it a standout vacation.

This trip is highly recommended for travelers seeking a more upscale, all-inclusive cruise experience without sacrificing fun and exploration. The Yacht Club is well worth the upgrade for the added comfort and convenience.

Need to know

Always look for the blue tents when arriving at the terminal and when returning to the ship from port. This is your dedicated Yacht Club team waiting to welcome you onboard for the first time or back onboard at every stop.
