Curator’s statement
Orlando is special to me because I grew up here, and I’ve had the joy of watching it develop into the vibrant, exciting place it is today. What was once simply my hometown has transformed into a city filled with culture, nature, great food, and memorable experiences. I love how it blends peaceful spots like lakes and parks with museums, farmers markets, and live music, giving me both nostalgia and something new every time I explore.

Because I’ve seen the city change over time, I appreciate its growth in a way that feels personal. I’ve watched neighborhoods evolve, local restaurants thrive, and new attractions appear, all while the community spirit has stayed strong. Even everyday moments, like browsing a store or walking through a familiar area, hold a deeper meaning because they remind me of how far the city has come.

What makes it even more special is how adaptable it is for any kind of trip. Whether I’m looking for the excitement of theme parks, the charm of boutique shops, the comfort of my favorite local spots, or the relaxation of lakes and nearby beaches, the city always has exactly what I need. It’s a place that fits every mood and every travel style. Ultimately, this destination means so much to me because it reflects both my history and the things I love most about traveling. It’s where my memories meet new experiences, creating a connection that feels both deeply personal and endlessly inspiring.

Lake Eola swans
Orlando is a vibrant destination that blends natural beauty, rich culture, and world-famous attractions, making it ideal for solo travelers, families, girls’/guys’ trips, and anyone seeking a relaxing escape. One of the city’s most iconic spots is Lake Eola, where swans glide across the water and the downtown skyline creates a picturesque backdrop. Beyond the lakes and parks, Orlando has an impressive arts scene, with museums like the Orlando Museum of Art, the Mennello Museum of American Art, and the Albin Polasek Museum offering opportunities to explore history, creativity, and local culture.

Food lovers and shoppers will find plenty to enjoy, especially with standout restaurants like Black Rooster Taqueria and The Foreigner, which offer some of the city’s most memorable dining experiences. Charming areas such as Park Avenue in Winter Park provide boutique shopping and beautiful streetscapes perfect for a leisurely afternoon. Weekly farmers markets—especially the ones at Winter Park and Lake Eola—showcase local produce, handmade goods, and a true community atmosphere.

The Foreigner foie gras
Orlando’s brewery and live-music scene is thriving as well, with favorites like Ivanhoe Park Brewing, Ten10 Brewing, and RockPit Brewing, plus venues such as The Social and Will’s Pub offering everything from indie bands to jazz nights. Of course, the city’s legendary theme parks—Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld—remain a huge draw and offer entertainment for every age and travel style.

Spaceship Earth at EPCOT
Convenient accommodations like The Alfond Inn, Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes, Lake Nona Wave Hotel, Waldorf Astoria Orlando, and Loews Sapphire Falls provide excellent options whether you want boutique elegance, luxury, or easy access to the parks.

New Symrna Beach
Getting around is simple with rental cars, rideshares, and resort shuttles, and one of Orlando’s unsung perks is its proximity to the coast. Beautiful beaches like Cocoa Beach and New Smyrna Beach are only about an hour away, making it easy to pair an exciting city trip with a relaxing beach day. Together, all these elements make Orlando a destination that feels both energetic and effortlessly welcoming.
