This was my first time committing to something like a fitness camp, and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect walking into it. Tiger Muay Thai challenged me in ways I hadn’t experienced before, but over the week it quietly reshaped my confidence and pushed me to show up more fully. I found myself being more open—meeting people, trying new workouts, and getting involved instead of staying in my comfort zone. By the end of the week, I left feeling stronger, more open, and genuinely proud of myself.

Located in Chalong, Tiger Muay Thai sits at the heart of what’s widely known as Phuket’s Muay Thai and fitness hub. This area is home to Soi Ta-iad—often called Fitness Street, a single stretch entirely dedicated to training, recovery, and healthy living. People come here from all over the world at every level, from complete beginners to seasoned athletes, not just to train but to live inside a routine built around discipline and balance.

What sets Tiger Muay Thai apart is how flexible and inclusive it is. The camps offer everything from class passes and training-only options, to all-inclusive packages with accommodation, meals, and transport. I chose the Basic PLUS Package, which included my stay at Camp 6, access to all classes, and a prepaid meal card for their on-site restaurant with a wide menu of balanced meals depending on your goals. Upon arrival, you are given that meal card, a weekly class schedule, and complete freedom to decide how intense or relaxed you want your week to be.

The community is another huge reason people choose this place. Fitness Street has an energy that’s hard to explain until you’re in it—strangers become friends quickly when you’re training together all day, then grabbing food or drinks at night. You see people running in the mornings, vlogging their routines, and genuinely enjoying the discipline they’ve committed to. The coaches play a big role in that culture—they’re supportive, approachable, and make sure all levels feel encouraged rather than overwhelmed. My favorite classes were the strength training sessions, but what really stood out was how the coaches met everyone where they were so no one felt out of place or pushed too far.

This experience is entirely what you make of it. You can structure your days around training, recovery, or balance—tanning by the pool, using ice baths, or hopping in a Grab to a nearby beach club during downtime. Practical details make life easy too—there’s a reliable laundry service across the 7/11 near Camp 6, and incredible local food on the entire strip—including a traditional Thai grilled spot across from Cali Boys that’s not to be missed! At the end of the week, you leave not just stronger, but with the feeling that you did something few people ever experience… training, living, and connecting in the heart of Thailand in a way that stays with you.

Need to know
A passport and cash-only deposit (Thai Baht, not USD) are REQUIRED at check-in, so plan ahead.
If you don’t bring your own gear, gloves and other equipment can be rented or bought on-site.
Try to avoid the rainy season—storms can be intense and occasional class cancellations can happen.
For everyday essentials, the 7/11 on Fitness Street has everything you need.
Arrive to classes at least 10 minutes early to check in, wrap hands, and get settled.
Use WhatsApp to stay in touch with the camp, if you plan on arranging airport pickup or transfers.
