An All-Inclusive Honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Curator’s statement

I searched for a long time for the perfect choice for my honeymoon in January. I wanted an all-inclusive resort, which meant I’d have everything and wouldn’t have to worry about a thing! Choosing the destination was tricky, but when I saw the beautiful beaches of Punta Cana and its untouched nature, I was sold. We booked the lovely Bahia Principe Grand Turquesa. If you’re looking for a great family/couples hotel, I would highly recommend it.

Arrival

A charming entrance to the hotel Bahia Principe Grand Turquesa.

My husband and I landed at Punta Cana Airport, where an amazing driver took us to our hotel. Since we had been warned about taxi prices beforehand, we were very careful in choosing the right person—and we were lucky to have such a great experience.

The resort & accommodation

The Bahia Principe Resort is quite large and has security at the gate, so it felt reassuring to know that the resort is fully secured and that you can completely relax and enjoy your stay without a care in the world.

Since we were on our honeymoon, they gave us a complimentary Bahia Principe tote bag, a personalized note, and a big sign over the door that had Honeymoon written on it. We stayed in the Junior Suite Superior, which had a bathtub, a king-size bed, and a beautiful garden view.

Palms and gorgeous greenery everywhere you go

Amenities & experiences

Since the whole resort is quite large, there’s an organized beach shuttle bus that runs every few minutes. You can either walk or take the shuttle—it’s your choice. This made getting from one place to another very convenient.

Another great thing is that all the hotels at Bahia Principe offer a rich program of activities throughout the day and evening. We especially enjoyed the evening White Party, where we danced under the moonlight.

Relax and dance your troubles away

Around the island

There are lots of activities to do on the island, and I especially recommend trying the local cocoa, as you can taste it freshly harvested.

For the adventure seekers, the best activities are buggy rides, ziplines through the Dominican forests, and boat trips, particularly to Saona Island.

A view from above you will never forget

Need to know

  • Definitely bring a bottle of mosquito repellent. They do depend on the season, but it’s better to be on the safe side.

  • It’s best to take a taxi rather than rent a car.

  • Try to learn some Spanish phrases—this small way of appreciating their culture goes a long way.
