Things to do at Walt Disney World

Some of the best Disney memories aren’t just about the rides or food—it’s about being together. Every trip is a chance to create moments like these with the people you love most.
Perks of staying on property
Whether it’s your very first trip or your 10th, staying at a Disney Resort means you’ll experience the true Disney Difference from the moment you arrive. Cast Members go above and beyond to make your stay stress-free, often adding that extra touch of pixie dust you’ll never forget. Resort guests enjoy exclusive perks like complimentary transportation between parks, resorts, and Disney Springs, making it easy to stay immersed in the magic without worrying about logistics. You’ll also unlock early park entry, first access to dining reservations, and priority Lightning Lane booking—giving you more time for rides, character meet-and-greets, and unforgettable meals. From themed pools and activities to resort-only surprises, staying on property keeps the Disney magic alive 24/7.
Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park
When most people picture Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom is the first place that comes to mind—and for good reason. With the iconic Cinderella Castle as its centerpiece, this park is packed with fun for every age. One of my most cherished memories is taking my grandma, who had dementia, to Magic Kingdom this past January. She lit up at the sight of the castle and absolutely loved watching the characters in the parade—it was pure magic, and a memory I’ll hold close forever. For little ones, the park is filled with classic rides like Dumbo the Flying Elephant or the Mad Tea Party, and character dining at Crystal Palace makes breakfast with Pooh and friends unforgettable. Grown-ups and older kids will love thrilling attractions like TRON Lightcycle Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, plus the dazzling fireworks that bring the day to a perfect close. Don’t miss shopping on Main Street, a sweet treat from the Confectionery (the caramel apples are a personal favorite!), or a quick-service classic like a hot dog from Casey’s Corner. With its mix of nostalgia, excitement, and moments that turn into lifelong memories, Magic Kingdom is truly the heart of Walt Disney World—and a place I’ll always treasure.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park
If you’re looking for thrills, shows, and blockbuster-level adventures, Hollywood Studios is the park you can’t miss. Adrenaline seekers will love classics like Tower of Terror and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster—I still remember the first time I braved Tower of Terror, and my stomach dropped right along with the elevator! Star Wars fans can step straight into a galaxy far, far away at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge—where you can pilot the Millennium Falcon, join the Resistance on Rise of the Resistance, or even build your own lightsaber on Batuu. For show lovers, Hollywood Studios shines with spectacular entertainment, from Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage to the Frozen Sing-Along (a favorite of my family), and the breathtaking nighttime spectacular, Fantasmic!, which combines fireworks, water projections, and beloved characters in an unforgettable finale. Dining is just as immersive, with family favorites like Hollywood & Vine and the retro-inspired 50’s Prime Time Café that transports you straight back in time. With so much action and storytelling packed into one park, Hollywood Studios is where Disney magic meets Hollywood adventure.
Disney’s EPCOT Park
EPCOT is a park that truly has something for everyone—and it’s my personal favorite on Walt Disney World property. While it often feels more adult-friendly with its festivals, dining, and World Showcase, there are still plenty of magical moments for kids. Turtle Talk with Crush is a must-do, where little ones can interact one-on-one with Crush from Finding Nemo—a memory my family still talks about to this day. Families will love soaring over the world on Soarin’ Around the World, while Living with the Land offers a fascinating look at Disney’s innovative growing techniques. For dining, nothing beats The Garden Grill, where Chip ’n Dale host a family-style, Thanksgiving-inspired meal made with fresh ingredients grown right inside the pavilion—it’s one of my favorite table-service experiences in all of Walt Disney World. Thrill seekers can’t miss Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a cutting-edge coaster that’s quickly become a fan favorite. Adults will also love exploring and “drinking around the world” at the World Showcase, and EPCOT’s rotating seasonal festivals—like Food & Wine or Flower & Garden—are unmatched for food, entertainment, and atmosphere. Plus, with its walkable access from resorts like the Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan & Dolphin, and BoardWalk, EPCOT is as convenient as it is unforgettable.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park
Animal Kingdom is, in my opinion, the most underrated park at Walt Disney World—and any time someone tells me they’re skipping it, I can’t help but feel a little sad. Whether you’re a fan of Avatar or not, Pandora – The World of Avatar is breathtaking, with floating mountains, glowing bioluminescence at night, and rides that make you feel like you’ve stepped right into the movie. Thrill seekers will love Expedition Everest, a twisting coaster where you’ll climb to the top of the mountain before racing backwards to escape the Yeti. But for my family, the highlight has always been the Kilimanjaro Safaris. With over 30 species of animals roaming across 110 acres, every ride feels completely different—we’ve seen giraffes stroll right beside the vehicle and elephants splashing in the water. It’s a must-do that we look forward to every single trip. Between the incredible animal encounters, cultural shows, and one-of-a-kind attractions, Animal Kingdom is so much more than “just a zoo”—it’s an adventure that makes Disney magic feel wild and real.
Disney Springs
No trip to Walt Disney World is complete without a visit to Disney Springs. With free entry, it’s the perfect place to shop, dine, and unwind outside of the parks. From world-class restaurants to quick-service favorites, there’s truly something for every taste—whether you’re grabbing a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich, indulging in a sundae at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Shop, or enjoying the immersive atmosphere at Rainforest Café. Kids will love exploring the LEGO Store and the massive World of Disney (the largest Disney store in the world!), while adults can browse boutique shops, enjoy specialty cocktails, or even catch live entertainment during seasonal festivals. Whether you’re looking for a rest day activity or just a fun evening out, Disney Springs is a can’t-miss destination for food, shopping, and entertainment.
Places to eat & drink at Walt Disney World

Nothing beats Disney character dining! My nephews loved meeting Pluto at The Garden Grill—smiles, hugs, and a little pixie dust made it an experience we’ll never forget.
The Garden Grill (EPCOT)
Hosted by Chip ’n Dale, this rotating restaurant in The Land Pavilion serves a delicious family-style meal with fresh ingredients grown right inside the pavilion. It’s one of my absolute favorite dining experiences—cozy, fun, and perfect for families who love character dining.
Crystal Palace (Magic Kingdom)
Located right off Main Street, this bright, airy restaurant lets you enjoy a buffet-style meal alongside Winnie the Pooh and friends. Breakfast here is especially magical, and it’s a wonderful way to start a day at Magic Kingdom with kids.
Summer House on the Lake (Disney Springs)
One of Disney Springs’ newer additions, Summer House on the Lake offers fresh, California-inspired flavors with a relaxed yet modern vibe. It’s the perfect spot for a refreshing lunch or dinner away from the hustle and bustle of the parks.
’Ohana (Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort)
Famous for its all-you-can-eat family-style meals, ’Ohana serves up Polynesian-inspired favorites with stunning views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks at night. Breakfast here with Lilo and Stitch is a guest favorite, while dinner offers perfectly grilled skewers and bread pudding you can’t miss.
Tony’s Town Square Restaurant (Magic Kingdom)
Step into a Lady and the Tramp-inspired Italian restaurant right at the front of the park. It’s a charming spot for pasta and classic Italian dishes—especially if you grab a table on the patio and watch the parade go by.
Hollywood & Vine (Hollywood Studios)
Hollywood & Vine offers buffet-style dining with rotating seasonal themes and character meet-and-greets. Kids love seeing Disney Junior characters at breakfast, while dinner often features Mickey and friends in fun costumes.
Flame Tree Barbecue (Animal Kingdom)
This quick-service gem is a must-do for barbecue lovers. With generous portions of ribs, pulled pork, and chicken, it’s the perfect hearty meal—and the outdoor seating by the water offers peaceful views of Expedition Everest.
World of Disney Treats – Main Street Confectionery & Ghirardelli (Magic Kingdom & Disney Springs)
For sweet lovers, Main Street Confectionery offers classic Disney treats like caramel apples and fudge, while Ghirardelli Chocolate Shop in Disney Springs is famous for its decadent sundaes. Both are perfect for a midday indulgence or a treat to take home.
