For me, travel is not about a certain destination, but the experiences that make it unforgettable. Things like special touches, encounters with locals, trying new foods, and doing things completely outside of your comfort zone.

Travel shouldn’t feel rushed—it is in the moments of stillness that you will have the most unique conversations with locals. Sitting at a café is probably one of my all-time favorite activities during my travels. Walking aimlessly without the aid of my phone is another. Of course, I do visit famous sites when I’m traveling to a destination for the first time, but what makes a trip really special are the moments lived as a local. I usually mix a day of sight-seeing followed by a day of relaxing/wandering/being in nature.

I love staying at boutique hotels—I find that they offer the most personalized service from people that truly do care about making the guests’ stay a remarkable one. I feel like boutique hotels are also built with intention, as opposed to a copy/paste method modeled by large chain hotels.

Since having kids, I have also learned that a resort can be an excellent option for families, giving parents some much needed downtime. I am not opposed to a good resort with great restaurants and plenty of activities for the kids.

Food is also a huge part of my travels. I usually look for restaurants to visit in a destination before I book hotels. I love trying out different Michelin-star restaurants, but I am also a big fan of family-owned establishments. Restaurants are at times the main driving force on a trip—I build the entire itinerary around the restaurants I will visit.

My travel style is focused on adventurous experiences and unique stays, but it is also fluid and constantly evolving.
