I have always been a budget traveler, especially when I go on solo trips. I stay in hostels and search for cheap flights so I can splurge on local adventure tours and excursions. I feel the strongest connections to the cities where I engage with nature and explore the local cuisine. To truly immerse myself in local cultures during my travels, I seek out experiences that are off-the-beaten-path: canyoning and repelling the waterfalls in Los Cacoas, Dominican Republic; taking a street food tour on morotbike through the streets of Ho Chi Minh City; feeding and bathing elephants at a sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand. While abroad I try to get the most out of every moment and schedule almost every aspect of my trip.
