My travel style is solo adventurer. Five years ago, I began a “treat to self” tradition of traveling every February in celebration of my birthday. Each itinerary begins with a dreamy boutique hotel – the smaller the better! Whether it’s a stunning luxury property like Hotel Calimala in Florence or a bohemian, retreat-style property like Finca Victoria in Vieques, selecting a stay is a special part of travel for me. I spend some days checking things off my must-see and must-do list at an exciting pace. Other days, I let the city charm me while I wander without a map, capture abstract photos and chat with the lovely people I meet along the way. I stumble upon some of the best experiences, complete with great food and wine, when I leave some unplanned time in my itinerary — I can’t make better plans than God! I am currently on a long-term stay adventure around Europe and I am excited to share what I’ve enjoyed so far and what’s to come.
