My Story
Iowa-raised, Chicago-seasoned, now finding inspiration under the Tampa sun. I curate food- and wine-forward trips that connect you to places and cultures. In my free time, I’m a sourdough baker, Mah Jongg enthusiast, and pet mom to Maddie and Maurice.
My Travel Style
My first taste of international travel came 25 years ago on a girls’ trip to Italy with my grandmother, aunt, and cousins—a journey filled with trains, a rain-soaked opera, many “investments”, and unforgettable meals. Since then, I’ve explored 17 more countries, always seeking experiences rooted in food, wine, and culture. As a Fora-certified travel advisor, I help others create trips that go beyond the guidebook, blending unforgettable flavors with lasting memories.

We had an amazing experience planning our trip with Christy! From the start, she made everything seamless — responsive, thoughtful, and proactive with recommendations. She went above and beyond to personalize our stay, ensuring the property knew our travel preferences and that we were celebrating a special occasion. What stood out most was the care and attention she gave us — even taking time while she was on vacation in Europe to understand our wants / preferences and make sure every detail was perfect. Thanks to her, everything felt effortless and tailored. We can’t wait to plan our next trip with her!

The Monument: Independently Owned Classic Luxury in Chic Barcelona
The independently owned Monument Hotel captures everything travelers love about Barcelona: timeless architecture, forward-thinking design, and genuine hospitality. Located on the glamorous Passeig de Gràcia, this 19th-century mansion was once the private residence of an influential Catalan family who relocated from the Gothic Quarter. Reimagined in 2016, the property artfully blends original brick walls, a grand central staircase, and hand-painted tilework from the surrounding neighborhood with sleek, contemporary finishes. The result feels both historic and effortlessly modern—a rare find among Barcelona’s luxury hotels.

Barcelona: Where Food, Wine & Travel Converge
When I think of destinations that embody everything I—and my clients—seek to experience through travel, Barcelona is always at the top of the list. This city’s soul is expressed through its tapas culture, its aperitivo hours with pintxos, and the vineyards just a short drive away. Centuries of history—marked by wars, occupations, and independence—have shaped not just the architecture, but also the cuisine and rhythm of daily life. There are endless opportunities to pop into places along one of the beautiful tree-lined streets for a quick tour like Casa Batllo or Mercat de Boqueria, so you’re experiencing the art and culture that helps define this great city. The visionary Antoni Gaudí, along with countless others, left an unmistakable mark on Barcelona’s architecture, food, and way of life.

The St. Regis Longboat Key: Redefining Coastal Luxury
The Sarasota area has quickly become one of our favorite “staycations” since moving to Tampa. Less than 90 minutes from home, it always greets us with something new to discover—from beautiful beaches and vibrant local culture to fresh dining spots and laid-back coastal charm. The newest reason to visit is the arrival of The St. Regis Longboat Key, a property that’s redefining luxury on this stretch of the Gulf. In a destination traditionally known for its casual, easygoing feel, it’s refreshing to see service and hospitality elevated to a whole new level—all while preserving the relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes this area so special.

Gulf Coast Getaway: Sarasota & Longboat Key
Since moving to Tampa a little over three years ago, one of our favorite parts of settling in has been exploring our new home state. Florida has so many incredible places that make you feel like you’re on vacation without ever needing to board a plane. And if you’re coming from out of state, it’s surprisingly easy to get here—with plenty of direct flights bringing you right to Florida’s beautiful Suncoast. One of the places we keep going back to is the Sarasota area. Every visit charms us in a new way. It’s close enough for a spontaneous day trip, yet has enough to offer for a full-blown family vacation, a girls’ weekend, or a peaceful long weekend away. There’s a vibrant arts and culture scene, fantastic restaurants, beautiful hotels, and of course those soft, sandy Gulf beaches—where you just might catch a glimpse of manatees or dolphins playing just offshore.

Classic New Orleans
Even on just our second trip, we were struck again by how deeply hospitality runs through New Orleans. Everyone you meet, from musicians and bartenders to taxi drivers and antique dealers, seems genuinely invested in making sure you have the best time in their city.

The Quiet South: Sicily From Fishing Villages to Cruise Ports
Eastern Sicily offers a blend of history, culture, and quiet coastal charm. In a single day, you can wander Noto’s golden Baroque streets, then escape to the serene fishing village of Marzamemi, where the sea is your backdrop. From Nonnas welcoming you with a warm “buongiorno” to a seaside lunch of fresh tuna and local wine, every moment feels authentic and unspoiled. It’s Sicily beyond the crowds—intimate, flavorful, and unforgettable.
