Curator’s statement
There are few hotels in Florida that feel as synonymous with the destination as The Breakers Palm Beach. Originally founded by Henry Flagler in 1896 and rebuilt in its current form in 1925, the property still carries a sense of old Florida grandeur while remaining remarkably relevant for modern luxury travelers. After a site inspection I completed recently, what stood out most was not only the scale of the resort, but also how well the experience is executed despite that scale. The Breakers manages to feel expansive without feeling impersonal, which is increasingly rare among larger luxury resorts.

The vibe
The Breakers is best suited for travelers who want a true resort experience with extensive amenities and multiple dining options without sacrificing service or sense of place. This is not a quiet boutique hotel experience. It is classic Palm Beach glamour done at a very high level.
The property works especially well for:
Multi-generational family trips
Couples wanting a classic Palm Beach stay
Corporate retreats and incentive groups
Milestone celebrations
Travelers who enjoy staying on property and utilizing resort amenities
The atmosphere feels polished but approachable. While the architecture and interiors lean grand and historic, the resort itself feels active and energetic rather than overly formal.

The grand entrance, always with fresh flowers.
Rooms & accommodations
The room product is traditional in design, but well maintained and thoughtfully executed. Guests looking for a more elevated and private experience should consider one of the 21 rooms within the Flagler Club, which operates as a hotel-within-a-hotel featuring:
Separate check-in experience
Dedicated lounge and stunning terrace overlooking West Palm Beach and the golf course
Four daily food and beverage presentations
Complimentary chauffeur service within Palm Beach
More personalized service structure
One of the more unique offerings on property are the private bungalows, which work particularly well for families, groups, or guests needing flexibility around arrival and departure days.

Dining highlights
Dining is one of the resort’s strongest differentiators. With 10 restaurants between the main resort and off-site concepts, guests can comfortably spend several days on property without feeling repetitive.
One standout is Seafood Bar, particularly seats positioned along the aquarium bar overlooking the ocean. It is one of the most iconic dining settings on property and ideal for a long lunch or first afternoon arrival meal. Try the shrimp cocktail—it's outstanding!
HMF remains one of the social centers of the resort and works especially well for cocktails and lighter dinner service.
Amenities
The amenity offering here is extensive and one of the reasons the property works so well for varied traveler types.
Highlights include:
Multiple pools and beach club areas
Five acres of private beach
Championship golf
Oceanfront fitness center
Guerlain Spa partnership
Strong on-property shopping (check out their boutique—the shoe selection offers unique designers)
Family-focused programming and activities
One notable operational detail: The resort does not charge resort fees or valet fees, which increasingly stands out at this level of luxury.

The newly renovated Beach Club restaurant is open only to Beach Club members and resort guests.
Groups, weddings & events
The Breakers is particularly strong for corporate events, weddings, and incentive groups because of the breadth of event space and operational infrastructure. Many of the meeting spaces feature natural light, and several incorporate ocean or resort views.
Need to know
The property’s ability to accommodate multiple traveler styles simultaneously is one of its biggest strengths. Families naturally gravitate toward the pools and beach club, while couples and luxury travelers can carve out quieter experiences through the spa, golf, Flagler Club, or bungalow accommodations.
